Picking up a 2011 Vector 121 GT next week. Do they still use the rear shock with the 3 different clip settings. I had read somewhere that the newer Mono II rear did away with the clip style and it was just threaded...though that may apply to newer than 2011's? Anybody know for certain?

Also if they still have the clip style in 2011, which clip setting do they usually show up with from the factory on 2011's?

Appreciate the info!

Can't really help you too much with the clip style and if it has it or doesn't, but I would assume if it did, then it would come from the factory in the first setting I would think?

Welcome to TY by the way! ;)!

I thought I had read somewhere that they come in the first clip.... but then I also read that some came in the second.....and then I read that the newer MONO II's don't have the clip adjustment... so I have no idea until I see it. I also had read that the newer sleds were a little stiffer than the older models so maybe the clip position won't be an issue...if it does indeed have that adjustment. Looking at old mono spring charts, it looked like the weight I'm going to set it up for is on the edge of choosing clip 1 or 2. :dunno: I'm not sure of the older charts I saw posted here in the tech section apply to the newer sleds. I guess I will know when I see it and start tinkering and diving into a service manual unless somebody with a 2011 chimes in.

I would say just ride it first before tinkering too much as you may just like it the way it is?
I have heard the Mono-2's are quite a bit smoother and resist bottoming etc a lot better than the regular mono's of a couple years ago did.

The clip style your referring to is the spanner wrench adjustable with the stepped base?! My wife's 2011 Vector GT has that style. It made it easy to set up! Hope this helps.

The clip is an adjustment in addition to the stepped base adjustment you referred to. It's not an obvious adjustment by looking at the shock quickly especially if it's in the first position.... but it's in the manuals.

I picked up the sled and to answer my own question in case anyone search's for an answer here......yes the 2011 GT does still have the clip adjustment on the shock. It came with the clip in the # 1 position.
