how do the 2012 & 2013 apex se with the mega float mono ride and handle, are there any problems? Can they be studded with the exup system or are there problems with that?

no problems with the studding. just make sure the track is not to loose to hit up in the tunnel. I know mine is not the SE but my XTX has been studded for 8000km and not even a mark anywhere underneathe. I would suggest using double backers whereever possible because the singles might/will bend, also don't stud anywhere near the centre of the track to avoid hitting the shock. My buddies 2013 is also studded with no issues. can't comment on the ride of the mega floats. a couple of guys have had the rear shock leak so that is something to think about when your 1-2 days away from your tow vehicle because you're not able to ride without air.

I've had the mega float on my 07 apex gt since the shock came out,
I've never bad a problem yet with it but my riding buddies have in extreme cold,
Also the difference in air temp from day to day will change the air pressure in the shock, I'm 180 lbs and found around 140 psi to be a good setting, but it only takes a few psi either way to make for a great ride or a horrible ride,
If I were you I would get a standard apex with the tunnel shock adjustment, much better ride quality than the se in my opinion and your mind is at piece knowing that your shock won't loose air and it will be a long long ride back,
I've demo a standard apex and liked the ride quality of the rear shock over my mega float, My next sled will be a standard apex...

I have 900 miles this year on mine with no issues. However, I took no chances and installed Port Yamaha's hard welded C brackets that attach to the tunnel protectors to reduce any possibility of flexing. So far no issues and I studded right down the middle. Hope it helps.
DO NOT use studs longer than 1.325. I have 11k miles on my 2011 studded, and no issues. I rode it 1k miles unstudder to let the track stretch, studded it and set the track to proper adjustment, and no issues.
