2012 AK sled build

Ive been dealing with icing issues on the filter since the first ride. Initially I cut the bottom of the mesh filter off and had my girlfriends sew a new tight fitting pre-filter. While this helped over the previous loose MPI pre-filter, it was still icing up in the right snow conditions and driving me crazy. I made a plate out of .032 5052 tonight to cap the back so no hot air or snow coming up through the tunnel can hit the pre-filter. Hopefully this fixes the problem for good.

Took a couple practice pieces to get the final product.

Oh, and I got LASIK on the 22nd. 20/20 vision without contacts or glasses anymore. Probably the best money Ive spent in my life.

I had it done also LOVE IT
but now I am old and need reading glasses
but if I get that close to something riding I already hit it LOL

Did some subframe strength testing today. Between the rocks and stumps and I'm pretty confident a factory Nytro would have come back with a bent front end.

Four wheeler trail to the snow haha.

Did 50 miles on 10 gallons today at Whittier. Snow was DEEP. 2+ feet of fresh snow and bluebird.

Secondary went boom today. It took out the primary as well. Bummed, even used clutches are $$$. I'll post some better pics of the damage tomorrow.

Wow good thing you had it closed off with metal and not plastic or you could have been in a world of hurt .

Great thread re read it all today. You are one talented hard working guy....GREAT JOB!

Started on the very very early stages of my next chassis, but progress will be slow. The next couple months will just be testing different routing depths, layers of cloth, vacuum bagging techniques, ect. All the test pieces will be hand routered so ignore the sloppy cuts. The finished product, which is way down the road, will use a CNC template for the router and rounded edges everywhere.

The miniature tunnel side in the pic is 1/2" Divinycell foam with 5/16" removed. This one will get two layers of CF mat on each side.

Thats awesome !
Will it be a new build or will you replace the tunnel on your current build !
And will it be a square tunnel or with 45º edges ?
