The driveshaft is the same for both the MTX and XTX, however the track pitch (driver teeth/window spacing) is different.
153" tracks have a 3.00" pitch, while the 144" track is a 2.52" pitch.
I believe that the 2013 XTX is still a 144" if so then they should work. Not sure if the 2013 uses 8 or 9 tooth driver's though.
If you go with 9 tooth drivers, then the front of rail tips will need to be shortened by approx 3/8" so that the rail tip doesn't contact the extrovert driver teeth when the front of the skid compresses upwards. It not a bad job to do while the skid is out.
It would be interesting to see if Yamaha went with different rails for the 2013 XTX or if they use 8 tooth drivers.

ok so does the xtx has 8 tooth or 9 tooth stock. i guess i will have to see if yamaha has the new drivers listed yet for ordering. I guess everybody just goes with avid drivers right so what is the size of the xtx drive shaft?

The XTX comes with 9 tooth drivers stock. Drive shaft size is 1 1/16" hex.
A lot of guys have used Avids with good results, I have Doo driver's on mine and they work well also. However Doo no longer sells them seperate from the drive shaft.

avids are great but imo they are a bit overkill (in pricing) if you are not going with boost, I have 9 tooth wahl drivers in mine that work great, after trimming the front of my rails a little bit and putting on anti-stabs on the rails it works great! I run my track very loose with the backcountry track and didnt have any problems with it (2000+ miles) this last winter.

So i guess i should wait and see what yamaha will charge for the new drivers on the 2013 nytro xtx and compare. by the way what are anti stabs that you put on your rails? thanks for all the advise. and what about going to 8 tooth drivers? because that is what they are running on the new xtx 1.75 nytro.

I too would like to know what the anti stabs are?

Anti-stabs are small wheels that you add to the front of your rails. They are very effective to prevent "stabbing your track".
When a track stabs, the rail pokes through the track window and tears up the track big time.
Track stabbing is more common with 3" pitch tracks then 2.52" pitch tracks, because the track windows are .48" longer on a 3" pitch track.
Moving the skid back can also increases the chances of stabbing a track as well. This is because of the increased distance between the rail tip and drivers.
Another factor is a loose track tension, this allows the track to "curl up" along with the driver during decelleration
8 tooth drivers will clear easier at the rail tips and heat exchanger protectors if you still have them installed. The draw back to 8 tooths is that they are not as efficient as a 9 tooth, because the track has to wrap around a tighter radius at the driver. Also the smaller 8 tooth will have a slightly steeper track approach angle. This is more noticable if you ride in deeper snow.
Here is a link to a web page where I have gathered some driver size data. http://fourstrokesolutionsllc.webs.com/ ... edtech.htm

Dave do you still run trails? If you are using trails off and on you might want to stick with 9t drivers. 9t drivers are fine with a 1.75 track.... I use them for the efficiency mtviper described.

I got mine from Ulmer racing. I bought a complete axel with the axel and 9t extros already on it. It's bolt on and you are then able to sell your stock axel. (but I've been to lazy to do so)
One good source for tracks in Canada is Tracks Canada. I believe he is in Edmonton which is a long ways from Timmons but shipping via bus is somewhat reasonable over long distance here.
