Just bought a 2012 Phazer GT. boggs at around 3000 RPM when it engages.
is this a high engagement RPM? I checked the belt today because it seemed loose and it seems to be about 4mm narrower than it should be (according to the manual) and it was running in the wrong direction.
Also, pulled the plugs (what a job that is) and they are pretty dark. are these 2 things most likely the issue? anything else I should do maintenance wise since i have it apart?

That RPM is around where the clutch engages so it could be the clutches or something in the drive that's not moving. Are you able to turn the secondary with the rear of the sled in the air?
