What blows me away are the number of people in my region that buy mountain sleds and only run them 4-5 times a year out in Montana. They trailer them up and drive 9-12 hours to mountian ride, but will not cut a trail in MN.

I guess that is why the promo is available here in MN.

The fact that Yamaha is even offering the kit as a promo instead of cash back or something like that is promising. For those on a lower budget, it would be nice to see that promo offered to someone ordering a phazer mtx. But I don't think that brand/model of turbo is offered for the 500cc twin.

All i know is a factory backed turbo on a flatlander 121" Phazer for $1500 on top of a spring ordered RTX is very tempting for us low-budget guys. 120hp phazer under $10K sounds like a package to go for! We will have to wait and see if that comes for 2013 orders this time next year.

i know of six of these put on by a dealer in the up. all rode at that altitude. he told me the only reason they advertise putting them on the mountain sleds is that yamaha never tested them at low altitude so they have no idea how they would perform or if they would overheat.

I don't think Yamaha would ever put a turbo on the 500cc engine, at least not producing 120 hp. The reliability is too important for that to happen.
