- 2012 Yamaha Vector LTX
I have a 2012 Vector RS LTX. When I start it up after it's been outside all night and it's cold, the yellow indicator light will come on and the low oil level in the LCD display will come on about 10 seconds after start up. If I let it run for a bit, shut it off and restart it, the yellow light and low oil level indicator does not come back on. I've checked the oil level with the motor hot and dipstick not threaded in to the tank, it's at the top of the H. No performance issue, and it works great otherwise.. If I have it parked in my heated shop it doesn't do this, I just start it and wait for the red warm up light to go out. Has anyone else run into this issue before, Thanks!

Interesting you posted this. My 2010 has started doing the same thing. Not every time, but maybe 3/5 times.
Same as you, oil level is fine. If I shut it off & restart, light stays off.
I'm thinking the dipstick/sensor is flaking out. I only have 3,700+- a few miles on the sled.
I'm gonna try taking dipstick out & spraying/cleaning it with carb cleaner or brake-kleen real good & see if that helps.

Mine has done this on occasion as well, same thing with my Nytro before, after a cold night too. As long as the light goes out, you're good to go. If it doesn't goes out, then add a bit of oil.
No worries.

Thanks for the replies guys...Appreciate it!!! Sounds like a common issue and I shouldn't be too concerned.

Bottom of sensor based on what I have experienced.

I have a 2012 LTX as well and it has done the same thing.
This year isn't so cold so I haven't seen it yet.
It also hides oil. I have checked it and nothing shows on stick, drive it a mile because I didn't have any oil to put in and got to gas station and check again and its full.
It caught me once, I added oil and checked later and it was way over full
10,000 miles on it now though and it seems to be settling out of that mode
