Aside from the obvious I am trying to find out exactly what differences there are between the short track Vector and the LTX suspensions.

I went through both parts fisch and as near as I can tell, the rails are different, the rear arm (Arm, Pivot 2 and the shaft that goes through it), the shock absorbers, and the LTX has a couple extra parts the short track does not.

I believe the difference in the rear arm and shaft is to account for a set of idler wheels on the short track version.

From what I can tell, the mounting points are exactly the same for the main pivot arms on the short track and LTX versions.

If any members would be so kind as to take a photo or two of their suspension (preferably removed from the sled) I would really appreciate it.

I am only looking looking for differences in the monoshock II non RA style, short track and LTX.

Unless Yamaha releases what I am looking for on the 2nd, I am pretty committed to building a vector XTX. I want a 144" track with a little better approach angle than any of their sleds currently come with. I am either looking at buying a new LTX and doing a tunnel extension and setback or potentially buying a regular vector, doing a 121"-136" rail extension with tipped up rails, a setback to reach the 144" and a tunnel extension.

Thanks in advance.

Was really looking forward to some replies to this post as I was curious as well.

Did you happen to find anything out at all?

Great info TheGrizzly1.

Thanks for the reply ;)!

Interestingly, the short track has a rear heat exchanger whereas the LTX does not according to the fisch. I don’t know if this is the case as I haven’t physically confirmed it yet.
The2012 LTX does have the rear exchanger

Does the 2012 LTX have tipped up rails?

Not all years are the same either as my 08 40th Vector 121 did not come with a rear heat exchanger and neither did my buds 136 LTX 40th Apex :dunno:

My '08 Vector LTX GT has the rear exchanger.

You say there is a $200 price difference between the 2 sleds? I would buy the LTX and set it back to 144. A rail extension and track is going to cost you more than $200. Unless you plan on replacing the 136 track anyway. Keep us updated, I have been wanting to make my '08 Vector a 144 for a while.

4strokeluvr111: To the best of my knowledge, none of the monoshock suspensions have ever come with tipped up rails, including the Vector LTX. The only tip up rails are on the XTX models of the Nytro and Apex, with the torsion spring suspension.

I was only looking for comparisons of the 2012 Vectors. I'm sure various years came equipped differently.

Perhaps I should have specified a little more. Either route, I choose, I am going to have to put on a new tunnel extension. I figured for the $200 savings I should be able to pick up a set of rail extensions with the tip up.

I already have the 144" tracks I am looking at installing.

Sorry grizz1....didn't mean to hijack your thread.
