Hey guys, I have a 2012 Venture GT that flashes the oil code along with the yellow warning light at the bottom of the instrumentation cluster coming on about 1 min after a cold start? I shut the machine off and it seems to go away. It runs fine but does have a small hesitation at times at first quarter throttle. I have gone for a few rides with it after it doing this and seems to be working well.
Two days later in -20C it did this again? I just changed the oil a week ago to full Yamalube Synthetic with a filter change. Have an 06 Attack and have done plenty of oil changes so not new at this. I am thinking that the oil ascending sensor is giving me problems???
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I guess it's the "OP Lo" message you're getting? It's apparently normal during cold initial startup. It should go away shortly. It could also be a reminder to you to not go ripping until the oil pressure stabilizes. Here's a thread on it.

and another in thee RS section:

But then you say it takes a minute before it turns off. So far, all indications say that it should turn off after a few seconds at most. Before the oil change, was it doing the same thing? And if restarting it clears it, I'd be looking at what is causing it. Maybe a flaky oil pressure switch. I'd be checking actual oil pressure using a gauge just to be sure.
BTW, this is actually the Venture Lite / Multi Purpose section but that's OK. You might want to check out the RS General Talk section as that's where the "bigger" Ventures hang out. http://www.ty4stroke.com/forums/rs-general-talk.14/

HI,
No its not the op lo light. It is the oil can symbol and the yellow warning light at the bottom of the instrumentation cluster. Sometimes to get rid of it I have to shut the machine down and re start it to get rid of it???

Re-read my post. The same recommendations are still valid. You should post in the RS section as this might be a known issue with them.
