First ride(400miles) on new EPS Venture GT. EPS fantastic, better than expected. Front end suspension great. Set up with Slydog Trail Skis with 8 inch Bergstrom triple points. Fiel economy as expected 18 MPG(US). Rear Suspension far too stiff for one up riding. Set up full soft and not near enough travel for average weight rider. Big disappointment although I expected it. Yamaha marketing hype said "fully adjustable for both one up and two up riding" NOT! Yamaha told my dealer it had a dual rate spring. NOT! Looking for ways to soften it up. NO weaker spring avialable. Any ideas appreciated!

Have yet to here any ideas for rear spring softening. All other GT owners like the stiff ride?

Rear Suspension Set Up
Hey Stud Dog, I just backed off the rear spring block to SOFT and backed off the compression setting on the rear shock. I am 250lbs. Ride is good for me. Good Luck.

I'm set up full soft and it's not even close to soft enouigh. Just did 700 miles and never bottomed out once.

What do you weigh if your only 150 lbs that is going to make a difference!

I weigh 180 probably 195 geared up. Yamaha marketing literature lied about one up two adjustability. The EPS works better than expected and front end handles well. I've talked to both Yamaha and my dealer. There is not a softer rear spring available. It' the usual OEM marketing hype. The trade press supports it with BS sled reviews as well. This type misrepresebtation has been goiing on for years. I had a friend ride it who weight 300 it worked well for him on softest setting.
