2013 apex what a let down by yamaha

well we are going on 7 years with the same sled i am out whats a good ski doo dealer

You are kidding right ?

Have you ever driven / looked at closely a 2011/12 Apex?

No resemblence to a 2006/10.

It has the same engine block & Delta Box, that's about it.

Let me count the ways;

New Intake system
New Rings
New pistons.
Different timing
Deto Sensor
More HP & torque
New Skis
New front suspension
New Plastics
New Seat
New tunnels
New Track lengths
New shock/spring packages
New rear suspensions
Air Ride available
Exup
Power steering
Hotter handwarmers
New windshield
New clutching & gearing
Much Quicker & faster than 2006/2010

I probably missed something but thats a good start.

Now let me see, Doo on their trail sleds expanded the use of last years suspension & new plastics. Whoopee

Cat, well who would buy one after this years fiasco.

:yam: :4STroke: :rocks:

PS ; Are you going with one of the Exploder engine options [that's what the E in E-Tech stands for right?] or the least powerful per CC 4 stroke that sounds like a lawn tractor ?

2011 apex was done a disservice by not changing the plastics or giving its update special names. The amount of change in the sled goes unnoticed. I honestly don't think rev to xp is light years ahead of the step 2010 to 2011 apex made. I agree, though, the have made a poor sled in the nytro for 6 model years without changing it at all, phazer is just as bad, as far as not changing.

my 2010 apex has the same rear suspention as the 11 and 12 and i seems like every time i go riding on a rought trail i am weldding something in the rear

Funny, I did not see the 128 MEGA-FLOAT Mono2, or the 144 XTX suspension options in my 2010 Yamaha brochure.

I guess the sleds were different in Ontario that year.

:o|

do your selfs a favor and go ride a 11/12 xtx and then tell me it is no diffrent i bought mine after a 15 min ride cant belive the diffrence. thought my 07 gt was the cats meow till the day i rode the xtx and that was it. I have traded sleds with friends on the trail all 07 -10 apex and cant wait to get back on mine rough trail no prob go thru 30-40 mph faster then all of them 12 hours out and 260 miles others are ready for bed im ready for 100 more

I get ticked off by these guys saying they are the same sled too. They took a great sled and made it a heck of alot better every year for years now. That's a mean machine. Going to a completly new model would bring on all kinds of issues and probably wouldn't be any better actually.
Scuba Pro Dive equipment which is the best in the world does the same thing..just kept making it better every year were as Dacor,USDIvers, etc. kept trying to come out with something totally new and they never did work and were dropped. How do I know? I am certified in rebuilding dive regulators.
I would love to have the new Apex XTX but my funds aren't good now and my Attak runs like a raped ape still..

I had an 06 GT, an 07 Attak and now have a new 12. All I can say is this 12 is sweet and refined! If I were Yamaha I would do just as they did. With the lack of snow in many big riding area's and the world economy as it is WTF would you want to go out on any limb's for? Cat will be lucky if there ordeal from this year don't break them just as the Confushion nearly did to Polaris. Yamaha is smart! That's why they are the only one of the four that hasn't been in financial trouble or been bought out. And because of this our Yamaha's still have the best resale value. I am very happy with my sled and feel real good about not wanting a new one.

why does everyone complain about the apex sleds? put almost 5000 HARD miles on an 07 GT and it took rolling it 8 times all at once to finally damage something on the sled.. (oops)

engine still runs like a top though!

Can't change perfection! The new apex is the best 4 stroke available!

Totally Agree
Can't fix stupid either and if you think the Apex is the same sled as 7 yrs ago, there is no help for you.

Go ahead go ride the doo you will be back.

I agree, all the upgrades that have been done makes the 11-13 different sleds. But they sure look the same as an 06. I think guys just need to SEE some new metal.

One more comment from me. I bet there are lot's small changes in the new one that we don't even see listed. There always is.

After owning an 06, 08, 11 and now a 2012 apex and riding over 25000kms on these, there has been improvements in each year.My 2012 XTX is a way better sled -engine,suspension and handling than my 2006 apex.

I hate reading these type of posts. I want one now.. I'm in denial thinking my Attak is the same so why spend $8500 after trade in for the "same"

cheers

I guess I am the opposite. I rode a demo Apex SE last year and absolutely hated the front end. The sled was faster than my 06 Attak but I could not wait to get back on my 06. Our group had the use of that sled all day and we were constantly trying to tweak the ski pressure/ spring tension and limiter strap in order to get the front end to behave. The front end on my Attak was much more behaved with the snowtrackers vs the 2011 with EPS.
