I just purchased a 2013 Nytro Xtx and the factory front shocks have some pretty heavy wear from the springs. I have a chance to pick up a set of used Elma front shocks but they were on a 2010 Nytro. Will these fit/work on my 2013?
this is my first Yamaha sled. I’ve owned ski doo and Polaris is in the past and haven’t had any in a few years.
thanks,
Ben

The Elka’s from the 2010 will fit your ‘13 no problemo.

Anybody have any idea what would cause the spring to rub on shock body? Both sides have wear but the left is much worse. The coils are not centered on the shocks. Both are rubbing in different spots

- 2009 Nytro XTX,OFT Relocator, Excell exhaust, Curve Skis, Excell wheels, Dupont Slides. Star Suspension. Hygear Billet rear shock and spring spacer. Air Box Mod. Clutch mods, Polished tunnel. Custom GPS mount. BOP Skid Plate. RSI handwarmers.
Bent shafts will do that. That the shocks off and spin the shafts to check for this. Hopefully they're not.

Not positive those are the stock springs, and the retainers that are on the a arm mount side of the shock don’t look like they are seated properly either. I’ve never seen a pair of shocks worn like that to be honest.

I appreciate the responses. I’m going to be taking my rear shocks out to be revalved/rebuilt as they are shot. I’m buying the front shocks from the 2010 and I’ll take the stock front shocks to Monster Performance when i go to pick up my rear shocks to see if he can Do a brief assessment on what is happening to them or if there is any value left in them that I can recover.
the spring is definitely out of wack and there is nothing on the retainer to capture it per se. I don’t think the previous owner ever serviced much of anything on this sled but it was the only Xtx reasonably close to me for a decent price. I would be willing to bet the shocks have never been serviced.
