At the same time the lackluster improvments make me wonder if Yamaha isn't looking at getting out of sledding.
It's not snowless everywhere. We've got loads of white gold.
Thanks, I feel so much better now

I would rather see them stay in the sled business than leave. If they leave, mine and your yamaha sleds are worth a lot less. I have a 2012 nytro xtx and with the low snow this year I only have 170 miles and it has really been a bummer. I would anticipate there will be a lot less new 2013 machines sold with all the new and non-currents that didn't sell this year. Many dealers of all brands are sitting on a lot of unsold inventory, including lots of trade-ins. This year for riding is shot for Minnesota basically, the worst I ever remember seeing. Along with the high costs invovled with sledding, we may have to be happy for awhile if all the manufacturers are able to make it. Of course I could be all wrong, I am not interested in argueing about speculation.
X2 very well said, i hate to see what they have done over the last few years but does anyone want to see them go? They have dug themselves in a hole that is going to be very hard to get out of... but they are not ones to throw things on a product, they rebuild it and make it better, look how long it took to get EFI they were the last in outboards, atvs, and sleds to have it, but i dont know how long they can keep this up

Little things like this don't warrent a specical release! they are things that should have just been changed from year to year to make it better. And whats the piont of a great performing trail ski if your gonna get rid of the good front shock for a non-adjust throw away one? WAKE UP YAMAHA! Who the hell tests rides these things?

Soon the hole they have dug will be so deep they can throw themselves in it. Got to bring chassis changes and fresh tech or the combo of crap weather and economy will bury them. The other 3 manufacturers are full blown racing, developing, and advancing. I don't know if yamaha will even be a speck in their rearview mirrors in a year or 2. We know they could put out a new radical 4 stroke chassis(we've seen it 07 phazer , 08 nytro) but will they or is the 4 stroke snow revolution dead to them.yamaha1973 said:maxx said:I think a conservative approach by Yamaha is in their best interest, even though many snow sports people (like most of us on this board) don't like it. If Yamaha is staying in the game, they must be working on a better rev, just like cat did. Doo supposively has new iron, but won't release it this year, after this crap winter. Rumor is, Doo is sitting on 50-60% of what they built last year, so big rebates are comming. Cat going to have to deep discount their remaining sleds that don't have working reverse, and so on.
I can see why Yamaha would wait to release something new when tring to compete against other mft with leftovers.
Maybe they had a new line up ready to roll and cancelled it, due to the lack of snow, and that's why nothing got updated on the older units. Well I hope it's the reason.

I remember back in the spring of `08 when I placed my `09 XTX on order. The 1.75 track was an option. I don't believe there was any extra cost either.

Look at yamaha and the Rhino in 2009 when they had lots left over, they stopped making for 2010, to sell what they had leftover.. Like you guys are saying, they MAY have new sleds, but want to sell what they have at dealers before they release a new line up. They may think they have the best sleds and not want to change, like the yamaha banshee from mid 80's, to 2008 very minor changes besides stickers, and the yamaha grizzly very minor changes. Bravo and the VK, etc. My 2 cents worth..

Thats fine but: don't ramp up a big release for something you already have. and 2 don't make what you have worse!.. Crap front shocks!

Well the XTX 1.75 looks like a pretty cool sled and an option I would have been interested in. However I think for a lot of us crossover riders it's a case of too little too late since most of us have already made these changes to our sleds.

Sure it would be nice to see something new and better. However having coming off two rev's in the last couple years I love getting on the Nytro. IMO it is still the best sled out there right now - reliable, quiet, awesome torque, gas and go, no worries about the octane level, running out of oil, beats up on stock 800's (up to 80 or so). Did I mention this thing is awesome in the whoops. Make me smile every time I hit the throttle. In saying this I would also like to see the Nytro upgraded to the following so we don't have to buy it after we have already dished out all our coin for the sled, cover, jacket, etc....
Ski's - no brainier
Stock skins seat with a lighter exhaust and a block off plate.
Now get out there and ride (if you have snow) and enjoy the rest of this so called winter.
