here's my story... My wife was out ice fishing and was obviously driving a bit to fast for conditions. hi9t a bump and tipped the sled over on its r.s. After putting the machine back on its feet she noticed smoke and then fire from under the hood. she yanked off the airbox and got the fire out. damage includes airbox, battery box, choke cable, brake hose, park brake cable,a bunch of hoses,(coolant and fuel).and the carbs are a mess.
Anybody hear of any of these sleds catching fire. Kind of concerning that you cant have it on its side for any length of time. She said less than a minute. never heard a back fire or nothing. pretty apparent the fire started in the airbox and went from there.

Started in the airbox??
There's nothing flammable in there.
I can see gas possibly getting on the headers from overflow vents as it layed on its side?? Maybe?? Nothing else would be hot enough.
Or a spark from something? Your positive jumper cable eyelet isn't exposed or frayed & it touched the frame laying on its side?
Obviously gas was coming out overflows as it layed on its side. That's nothing new. I'd expect that.
