Im in the same boat...previous owners told me it will have protectors. Turns out in 2013 they were just an option and not on every sled
Yeah that blows.

You could rivet some used Hyfax up in there.

What's your location? I have a set that were drilled out properly when removed and they're still good

My header and heat exchanger still had some scars from studs and ballooning track even with the protectors installed. That's with stock ripsaw with 144 studs and never lost a stud

I have a set out of my xtx, brand new, we took them out at the dealer before the sled ever came home, because I installed a 1.75 Backcountry. Let me know if you are interested. Dan

Just picked up a 13xtx and will stud it before next year and was a little depressed it had no protectors under the tunnel . Love the sled as it rides and steers better than any other NYTRO I have ridden to date. I even liked it better than the Viper they had on a demo ride.
Are these protectors in the tunnel even needed with all the clearance under there? Way more clearance than an Apex.

I've talked to my dealer and he said they aren't needed on the xtx? Sounds weird but p-macd10 confirms this on the 1.25 xtx anyway!!

I don't see how the strips of aluminum would protect against a pull out!?APEX 06 said:p-macd10 said:Studded my track anyways without installing tunnel protectors and no rubbing
