Ok, I Snow-Checked a 1.75" BackCountry Nytro XTX today! I figured I would try the 1.75" track and if I can't take it on the trails I could sell it and get a 1.35" Cobra track. Now planning all the upgrades to make it a great sled. Roest metal Skid Plate, USB & RCA Power Supply, center shock re-valve and install a custom dual rate spring, Hygear triple rate front springs, OFT bar Relocator. Anything else I need to make it a GREAT Sled?

Anyone recommend any other mods? Phase 2 will be engine performance and tunnel rack.

I would recommend a block off plate in the tunnel. It's a cheap, but helpful add on. I used a $12 sheet of 12"x24" aluminum from Menards and cut out the slot for the exhaust. OFT also has a version that they sell for $100 that's pre fabricated. This keeps the snow from building ice in the tunnel which is mostly to keep the weight off.

FYI: If you decide to go the aftermarket exhaust route, just keep in mind that a fuel controller and clutching or gearing will be required as well. That equals BIG $$$. I'm sure you'll love the Nytro!

Thanks Pete!
Mine will have the in tunnel heat exchanger, so I'm not sure if that will alleviate the tunnel ice build-up. I may wait and see on this unless the nitro MTX with tunnel heat exchangers are having icing issues too. Does anyone know. If I still need the tunnel plate in would rather install it b4 first snow.

You will be happy with the 1.75, just put some ice scratchers on for marginal trail conditions.

That's a good point. I don't know either. Good luck with your new rig! Hopefully the snow is accomodating this year!
