Thinking I may want to pull mine apart and look. had 2700 miles on stock last year. Installed Hurricane kit this year. Rode 230 miles this weekend. Thought I had some exhaust smell and had 4 on boost and 10.0 on afr at WOT. How bad is it to get tank off and take a look?

yours sounds the same petey. it was cracked just like yamadogs. on the seam where all 3 are together. the welds looked terrible. must have had the thief river shop class do them. if the sled is thawed out it takes about a half hour to get to it. all plastics come off. and the two support tubes from the steering column to the tunnel. then just unplugging wires and fuel lines. then the tank lifts out to reveal the heat shield. remove that then you can see all the welds. (clutch side probably) seems to be the trend.

Did you replace your header yet? If so did it solve your problem?

Mine broke last year. Welded it and put back. Factory welds look horrible. My weld are still good.

Has anyone been having cracked header problems with the 2015's? Tator told me about this already and i checked my header and found nothing. Yamaha started adding the gusset on the 15's so the area behind isn't visible

I'm having the same issue when I installed my Turbo first I ended up running perfect loved it but shortly after I started running low boost and Trace the problem back to a broken bellows in the blow off valve replace that and everything went back to normal. She still never ran more than about 5 lb of boost ever with the sled. I noticed my Boost decreasing from 5 to 4 and now I'm down between 3 and 4 lb of boost. I took a part the exhaust where it comes out of the header into the turbo where the copper gasket goes and I found a exist leak. I was hoping this was my problem just don' want to put it all back together if the header is cracked. Do you think this leak looks like enough to drop 1-2lb of boost? Thanks for your help mike. Sry I can not seem to get the pic to upload.

We welded it and I had not had any problems after that. Really bad oem welds on it. It was leaking on 4 different places on 2016 and 3 different places on 2015.

Has this been a problem with non turbo'd Vipers? I was riding in some deep snow yesterday and on the throttle hard when the engine got loud but it's a low somewhat muffled rumble. I thought maybe it was a blown muffler but I don't see a problem with it and the tone really doesn't fit a bad muffler leak or what you'd get out of some of those louder aftermarket mufflers. At low speeds it's not overly noticeable but under hard acceleration it's annoyingly loud.
I got it inside this morning and set the garage thermostat to defrost so hopefully I can find out what's going on later today.
