I really don't understand Yamaha. They seem to be about a generation behind on everything. The viking would a very competitive vehicle....10 years ago. No sport SxS is indefensible.

My guess is the Viking will be for the utility(Polaris ranger) market and a new sport vehicle will be next for the sport market with a bigger engine that will be phased into the Viking. I like everything about the Viking except the engine, need a big twin.

For the money you could buy a leftover brute and add a set of elkas and be into it way cheaper than the Renegade.
One of my buddies has an Outlander 800 xxc with a full exhaust, tuner, and intake mod and in all honesty it has too much power for fast paced woods riding. You really have to watch your thumb. I can't imagine a 1000.

I swear I heard in the end of the manufacturing video an employee says that he hopes to be building the unit for the next 10 years.
