Sled has 3000km (1800mi) on it. Worked until it showed sign of a dead battery, battery is new! Found voltage regulator, unplugged and checked each wire (3) they all referenced ground and check between wires they all had continuity between them.
Removed the oil tank but it appears the engine needs to v come out to get at the bolts but through the observation plugs it looks like oil on the stator which would explain the reference to ground.
Anyone have any thoughts on this or heard of this?
Last thing I am the second owner of this machine purchased with 1012km on it, looking at it with the oil tank off it appears the engine has been out of it within the 1012 km. Is there an issue with this engine model?

Is this a common problem, looks like the crank seal let go and flooded the electrics with oil.

should be oil in the stator as it mounts to the crank cover. might need to unmount the motor on a side to get the cover to come out. guys have posted that they have done them in the feild.

stator should be in oil. Check Rectifier / Regulator plugs and Stator output

UPDATE- Removed engine and Stator cover. Found that something got caught between the Mag and the stator. It wore a grove in the stator. Replaced stator and cleaned up the mag re-installed the stator and cover. Engine in and went for the first ride. Works great but think I may have a small exhaust leak.

What led to the stator. Output voltage while running should be around 40 to 60VAC and it was 3.8 VAC. Also the quick check all leads to the stator went to ground. Suspected failure- these machines are known for starter ring gear failure which this unit had the work performed under warranty, maybe a small piece of debris got caught causing the damage. One will never know.

Thanks to those that responded

Hope this helps someone some day!
