I've done some searching about the failing to start issue, having problems starting apparently because of ECU not completely shutting down, having to disconnect the negative post and reconnecting it. My sled would not start until I saw this "fix" few days ago. Did it and it fired up. Just wondering if anyone found a permanent fix for this bug? TIA.

Former Yamaha sleds:
2004 Venture 600 2002 SX Viper 700
1997 Vmax 600 SX 1994 Vmax 600 1989 Exciter
1986 Vmax 540 1986 Phaser 1981 SRX 440
It’s happened twice to me on my 2016. Don’t know of any fix, just gets logic locked and needs to be rebooted at times

Ok thanks for chiming in, at least now I know what to do. Thinking outside the box here, about installing a shut off switch, easily accessible, to cut the power to the battery in the event this happens again. Save from taking the seat off, removing the battery bolt, etc. With my bumbling hands I’d probably drop the bolt in the snow and never find it.It’s happened twice to me on my 2016. I see a lot of Vipers with no seat bolts. Guys say the clip holds them on just fine. I bought a large headed bolt that you can remove by hand, just seems weird to not have a fastener in there

Yeah I don’t like the idea using just the clip. I welded a medium size wing nut to a bolt because I lost the original bolt and they wanted like $30 I think?? It’s more removing the battery bolt that burns me. Although I hope it doesn’t happen too often.
