There will be a Red/Black/White verson of the 2018 Yamaha Mission FX Jacket by FXR that will have 50th anniversary logos on it - see below for a pic of it along with the other versions of the Mission FX Jacket for next year and the specs that go with it.

you think that there would be a more special jacket made for the 5oth like they did for the 4oth there is nothing really special about this one to go out and buy it's got FXR all over it. Is it yamaha's 50th not FXR 5oth.

Again I am extremely worried about the future of Yamaha sleds and the little things like this makes me even more worried! Sorry about being a Debbie downer!

So true, 50th should be a huge deal for Yamaha but looks like not much interest on their part...

I truly believe Yamaha got caught with their pants down on this Textron/Cat buyout! I think Yamaha Canada is scrambling right now! I hope I'm wrong. So true, 50th should be a huge deal for Yamaha but looks like not much interest on their part...

just seem that they do not care any more it is crazy every other manufacture has better looking stuff than we have. they should let the ARTIC CAT people help them build and design some yamaha jacket . they just do not get it when i go to a Yamaha dealer and want a yamaha jacket i want to be brand loyal if i wanted it to be FXR then i would buy FXR i'm not say that FXR stuff is bad I just want a Jacket that's true to my brand.

We
Went to Old Forge "sneak peek"this past weekend. Yamaha did not have a full brochure available, only a 2 page foldout labelled 50th with pics. All others had full brochures? Viper did not even get the Cat updated bodywork with easily removable panels.Again I am extremely worried about the future of Yamaha sleds and the little things like this makes me even more worried! No.... Yamaha knew AC was for sale...everyone did. Yamaha was not interested which didn't surprise me a bit AC a much better fit for Textron. The big question is.... does Textron want to continue with Yamaha in the OEM biz? Yamaha already knows the temp of that water and from the looks of it not too receptive imo. Neither Yamaha or Textron is saying anything reasuring to the market place which is us.I truly believe Yamaha got caught with their pants down on this Textron/Cat buyout! Exactly! I think Yamaha has to reaffirm and reashure, to its snowmobile customer base, that they are in the snowmobile business for the long haul! I know that would make me feel better!No.... I am netting Yamaha loves the buy out by Textron because now they are business partners via Cat which may help them get Yamaha motors in many of the other vehicle types Textron owns. Yamaha is first and foremost an engine design/build expertise company. They build and sell bikes, sleds, water craft and other toys to put their motors in is how I see it. Textron is a great gateway form them to not have to design and build toys for their motors if they can get their foot in the door of Textron.

I'd swear this thread said 2018 Jackets. This year it seems to take about three posts before any thread becomes What's Wrong With Yamaha/My Yamaha/YamaCat/...
Thanks to all of those who work so hard to keep this site the amazing resource that it is. It truly was one of the reasons I bought Yamaha and would again.

Agreed, seems like there's too many threads leading down this path. Yamaha has always been ultra conservative so don't expect any riding gear resembling something with a rabid feline on it.

These are really nice jackets and they may save your life if you go into the water with the F.A.S.T insulation. Video on the F.A.S.T ....
