I have a 2018 ltx dx that I bought at end of season last year. I have been trying to follow all the posts concerning the clutches and belt blowing and changing the stock set up to remedy this issue. So far I had 2 mm removed from my secondary shaft and changed the secondary spring to blk/orange wrapped at 6/2 as dalton Inc suggested. What spring should I use on primary clutch? I was thinking blk/bronze since I'm all stock as of now. Also would these new Springs still require spring pockets to be machined to stop coil bind? Or would that be not necessary since these Springs are shorter? Thanks for any help

First get the Hurricane alignment tool ,then go from there .No need to change drive spring ,but i'd put 14.5mm rollers in .Get the newest dalton driven spring and set it up ,You'''ll be good to go .Till you try a Boosted one LOL

I did buy the alignment tool and the offset is spot on according to the tool. I also changed the secondary stock rollers from thunder products. So I should change the primary ones also?

If you like ,But the 14.5mm rollers last/work better .

They are not, 14.5mm is what comes in a Sidewinder from the factory.
OK that's good to know. So would I need to machine the primary pockets to prevent coil bind if I use a new dalton spring? I believe they are shorter than stock

I'm using Dalton spring with no machining

Here's another tip for you Sidewinder guys that might help. I just got a new American Snowmobiler and they was an article on one of their long term sleds (Sidewinder)they said they were blowing belts and took the clutches in for balancing and it cleared up. Pg 23. Here's a picture for you.
