My X-TX came with 21/41 gears stock but because it has 8 x 3" drivers it was already geared 7% lower then an SRX that has the same 21/41 gearing but has 9 x 2.86" drivers.
I never ran the 21/41 gears but right away installed 21/37 gears that gave good all around performance on my X-TX. At the start of last season I switched my gearing out to 26/45 Scott Taylor forged gears top and bottom. Both gears are now 15 wide and forged.
This has turned out to be the perfect gearing for my riding style maintaining good mileage, corner to corner acceleration, and top end performance.
