2023 Yamaha Snowmobile line up

Polaris has 850 two stroke for flat landers.
Said they are in hyper sled market.

Yea just short of 23 when I built one. They have a 900 in mtn sleds and then turbo 850. 900 is a $2000 up charge and turbo 850 is $5000 almost. If Yamaha can hold prices again this year they will need another factory and bunch more workers

Why is Yamaha always late to the party? After having the dealership refund my deposit this year because the sled that they were supposed to be getting in (and selling me) was held back to meet early orders, I was more than a little disappointed. Both Skidoo and Polaris have already unveiled their 2023 sleds (a couple configs on the Skidoo website have already sold out for pre-orders). If Yamaha wants to stay relevent they really need to step up their game ... I'm not getting screwed out of a new sled two years in a row ... if they don't hurry up their release I'm gonna bounce!

All 4 mauf had major issues and many didn't receive their new 22s.

Its a supply chain issue.

So the big thing for me is that it's a two stroke turbo. Yeah Polaris has probably run a whole lot of validation on it to keep it alive but I don't see it lasting as long as a 998. Knapps thread has pointed out how reliable the 998 sleds are.

They also pulled off the hi/lol compression on the clickers.

Ordered a Polaris for the mrs and still waiting on it myself. Buddy ordered an xrs 850 and just picked it up day or 2 ago. Yamaha I think managed the best though all this. But I didn’t buy one and pay attention to it that well to know for sure. And Yamaha always releases first second week of march. Others keep moving theirs up

So, Ski-Doo, and Polaris put out more new stuff in one year than Yamaha has in the past 10. Can't wait to see the new exciting colors Yamaha has in store. lol
I def have a list of things I’d like to see changed or revised. But in reality aside from wanting “new” or “different” what do you need in a new sled other than a way to jack the price $5-8000 from what they were last year?

I believe the Sled issues are more related to AC. Or Textron. I just picked up 2 2022 Yamaha EX Deluxe Waverunners. The free accessory package was short due to the free Bluetooth speakers. My guess. The dealer could not find a spare for the trailer. I was at Discount Tire the next morning. Fixing their wheel balancer. They told me they had the tire but could not get the wheel. Told me to go to the local trailer supply store Tools & More. Sure enough I was able to buy a spare! The world we live in now I guess.

And yet....they will sell every one of them they can make.
I know we all want new stuff. New product is exciting. New tech is exciting. But when they sell every unit they make, what is the incentive?
Maybe they dont care about being #1 in sales? Maybe just having a presence is enough? I don't know their motivation.
For every person who threatens to go buy somewhere else, someone else takes their place.
Look at the history of Yamaha and some of their models in other line ups.
The TW 200, the XT line, the Raptor, The Rhino. All these went years without changes. Yet they sold every one of them every year.
Look, I like new stuff too. I would love to see new models, engines, gauges, bodywork etc. It is exciting to see new models every year.
Maybe they like making XXXXX units a year and selling XXXXX units a year. It makes them a small profit and keeps the line moving with a four-season presence.. No leftover units to worry about or burden the dealers with.
Again, I don't know or defend their motivation, just providing a different thought.
New doesnt mean a thing. I got over that years ago. For example. We have an ES350 Lexus. Bought a 2006 Toyota Avalon, for a winter car, with 65000 miles and the 2grfe v6
Close your eyes in the avalon and youll believe its the lexus. Ride, quietness, power. A good design never goes out of date. Improve the QC, and change some of the dumb stuff, but the procross chassis is a good design.
