I agree! I tossed a suggestion out there, about pricing, and it turned in to a quality issue. Yamaha, and Ski doo make some of the best Atv's on the market. Are the most cost effective for a regular rider maybe not. Everything depends on where something, and how something is used. I am sure Grandma gets a lot of miles going back and forth to church in her old Dodge for the price, compared to the highschool kid down the street, but it isn't Lexus quality. If you catch my drift?

I personally am not impressed with the Can AM machines. They may be great if you don't hammer on them, but I would hate to hit anything hard or roll one. They literally have half the frame of a Yamaha. They do go like hell though!

They are stronger then you think. My buddies beats the livin crap out of his... I mean he airs it out every ride were on and it's fine. He does have full riccochete skid plates on it, which does help alot for strengthening. Spending 250.00 bucks is really the only thing that you you need to spend money on in order to have an awesome quad. The power of that motor really adds to the fun factor of off road ATVing. I love mine, but I got a 700 grizzly as well, so I am one happy camper...

I'm just going by what I have seen. I know a guy that has an 800 outlander and stood it up on its tail and it bent the subframe instantly. ONe of my relatives also races the GNCC 4x4 open and he said the amound of work that needs to be done to the Can am's before a race is unreal. I'm sure for the average joe they are plenty strong enough though. One thing is for certain, they go like hell.

What are you guys seeing for top end speeds on your 700;s and 800 can am,we have the new 550 grizzly and a couple of 800 outlanders we have around town claim 80 mph speedo and climbing,i really dought they go that fast,maybe there speedo is like our apex speedos,i have run my gps on my 550 this past weekend down our rr bed,and it is not very flat in the summer compared to winter groomed snow,so it ran 63-64 speedo and 61 gps,i was pleased to see it that close,and to think the can am can run 20 mph faster,i dont believe it,4 wheeler mag did a comparo of the cat 1000 poo xp850 and can am 800 and they all ran real close and radared 70 mph and were all claimed to be around 70 hp.SledFreak said:number1kyster said:I personally am not impressed with the Can AM machines. My 800 Can-am runs 73mph. It only has 8hrs on it and 140 miles. I believe once broken in good, it should run about 76mph (GPS). They will not do over 80. A renegade might get close to it. The speedo is bang on to the GPS on my Outlander.
My Grizzly 700 will do 68mph (speedo). I believe it is limited to 68, since that is what I have been told from my dealer. It never seems to go past that, so it does seem to be limited. I never GPS'd the 700.
I have read on some of the other forms that the T-Cat will run over 80mph, setup correctly. They have alot of room for performance if you want to play.

My dad has a T-cat and I do have to say it is quite impressive! Come on Yamaha...how about a Nytro motor in a new Grizzly Chassis?

I have the 09 550 with 25x10 mudlites on all four corners and I have seen 65 on the flats and 68 down hill. These are speedo speeds. I think it's pretty impressive for a 550.

Yup i thought 61 mph gps on a 550 was preety good as well,but its my sons and mine,and we share it,with a two up set up,with the seat and sturrips for the passenger,but i like the extra length that poo,doo and cat have for there two up bikes,and off course i want the most power for my buck,poo saids they now have the best,but i have seen the new cam ams in action,and they are a really fast bike,and some of the guys i ride with have had zero problems,but i have 600 hard miles on my 09 550 grizz and have zero problems as well,now i know that 35-40 hours is not much time,but its been great so far,i never thought other than road riding in the summer anything else was anything to write home about,but sense we bought a house up north and ride right from my door,its been alot of fun,while i wait for snow lol..

The Grizz 550 will beat the grizz 700 in a drag race all day long, my buddy has the 700, and he got his wife the 550, both have about the same amount of time, and miles on them. We raced them first on the gravel best 2 out of 3 and the 550 got a good 2 1/2 lenght jump out of the hole and never looked back. We then headded for ashphalt, and the song remaines the same. I think its due to the smaller mill of the 550 allowing it to rev quicker than the big 700. I don't know, but I can tell you this, ol'Danny boy is wishing he hadn't picked up that 550.....his wife kicks his but off from every stop sign. lol
Also, I have a 660 grizz with 27in Mud Lites, 13 1/2 comp cp piston, stage 1 hot cam, oversized Raptor 660 uni filter, clutched with a Big Gun exshaust and she'll read 74-76 on the speedo, never GPSed tho. My dad has a stocker 660 grizz that reads 67.....70 if he pumps the tires up a few extra pounds.

OK so a few of you guys have grizzly's,we are looking at getting a used 02 660 grizzly,but it needs the dash that hooks in to the harness,so as it is it cant be driven,i can buy it for 900 bucks,it it still a good deal,he saids the pod is 300 bucks,so it would be 1200 plus. What do any of you think,that have had the 02 model.

They are both completely stock? Tires and all. I find this very hard to believe.... I call BS on this one..
