2024

The U.P. has it all. Mostly big wide sweepers, but plenty of tight and lots of turning ALSO.. Head over to Iron county and you can have a about half tight twisters and half straighter sweeper trails. Pick your poison. My favorite trail in Iron county and just about the entire area would be trail 6 up over the mountain range.. When that's groomed and tight wow what a awesome ride
I have yet to get there, maybe next year!

I'm guessing some new graphics and possibly a return to a red option and that's about it. I heard rumors of the cat clutches going into the 24 Yami's but thinking that was just that...rumors

Pricing is insane! Somehow they managed to increase price again. $27,600 CDN for a Riot 9000 plus PDI, freight and fees. Riot is only in Green. The 9000RR is the best deal if looking for a 998 with the QS3R shocks at $27,500 CDN.
I assume Yamaha will follow suit with more expensive MSRPs as well....

Lots of people have deep pockets and are keeping the yearly increase in pricing rolling.. insane is an understatement..

I think last year was the final year of that, especially seeing the number of unsold boost littering CL and Facebook.

Remember interests rate were a lot lower last year.

All of the prices are out to lunch!
O its worse then you think.. I called 2 dealers and they almost laughed at me.. Waiting lists for sleds allocated to dealers! full MSRP and 700 freight and fees and doc fees.. Its laughable.. SOME 2023 sleds are actually still arriving at dealers.. They want full MSRP and freight and all the BS on a 2023 right now? You think last year was a circus wait until this year.. Going to be tons of pissed off people.. 70% of cats that they "propose to build" are going to dealers .. 30% are for the fools that are going to pay MSRP and fees and $300 for a tunnel gear bag on a pre order.. I was told I would have to be online at a certain time and be fast on the key board.. THEN you are still not going to be guaranteed a sled.. 30% of total built sleds are for the pre order the minute it opens. YES 30% good luck with all that.. I was interested in the catalyst ZR R-XC with the good shocks.. They said they don't even have one to pre order or one allocated that's not spoken for.. Waiting list of 50 people at the biggest Cat dealer in a 3 state area? This is all great for Cat and its dealers as they need a shot in the arm and I hope they grab some market share with the catalyst.. But this 30% of all sleds they claim to be able to build are for pre orders?

Looks like I will be riding my t-cat into the 2030's while making chassis repairs along the way.
Thing is, IF you stay on these they are pretty good for longevity. 2030 you will still be hauling %SS down the trail on a great ride!

Doesn't that mean that we are now buying from the dealers at MSRP? The discussion was previously "I want to buy from my dealer" whereas the last year of pre-orders created frustration for many. This year sounds like the manufacturers are splitting the difference and dealers will be involved again. This is a good thing for the industry. The cycle of dealers ending up with inventory is going to start over due to the high cost of cash, this is year one of that inventory buildup. Yes, the manufacturers are going to keep an eye on this but its a tight line to walk. Dealers want inventory as it brings in customers to buy other things. Look at car dealers, massive lots of inventory. In any case, unless there is something compelling beyond the catalyst in 2024, and there doesn't seem to be, I am happy with looking at a 2023 with EPS and I will simply wait a year for the catalyst to get the bugs out. There will always be people backing out of those lists, there are 23s available and still incoming for sale, some will be at a discount.
