22 gear?

What do you define as better? If you are running a 1 inch track for speed runs, sure its better. For trail riding, couple of my buddies with 137 tracks said they preferred the 21.

In your case with that big track, I dont think its a good idea. Youll be harder on belts, and I doubt you want to/able to go more than 120mph with that track.

In my case I have 137 with 1.25 track and its ok,but if I had the stock 21 I would have even more problems hooking up this beast, stage 4 tune has lots of torque,so far 1500 miles no belt issues at all,but I am still hunting for the perfect mix for my tune.

But 137 Has Different Drive wheels and gears and then the BTX with the 21/41 gears
Just drivers are 8 tooth, and yes more track, less drivers for taller lugs,so your overall speed will be down with same gears as a short track and 9 tooth. Are you tuned up,say 270 hp,than you may be able to haul 22/41.

Yes 270 race thunder products clutching, just cleaning chain case/ changing oil in case and motor so trying to decide while I have it opened up

Yes,totally agree, thats when we did mine, when it was all apart to,kinds wish I had stayed stock 21 top,for all round grunt, but I may have had even more issues getting hooked up,small 1.25 track.

If you have a 153 long 1.75" track there is no way I'd go to a 22/41.

I went to a 22 on my 137" 1.25" and am thinking I'll gear it back down to the 21 next time the cover is off for an oil change. I'm not into speed running on the lake.

But your 137 isn't geared the same as mine is it ?

You tell me. My 137 comes stock at 21/41. I went to the 22 and will soon be going back to the stock gearing as I spend no time at all up in the 120’s. Higher gearing is meant for big speeds.

That's alot of gear to pull with that much rubber. Like mentioned previously, imo that's gonna make for some hot clutches especially with any kind of load on the drivetrain.

It seems like I run Out of gear really quickly at 110 mph on the speedo, with 270 tune should I be running at a gear that quick ? I just assumed it must be too low of gearing

Well you do have 8 tooth drivers right, funny you are out of gear at that speed, but 110 is fast for a 153x1.75 correct,i suppose you could try the change,if you are mostly trail riding, and not deep and steep, other wise you will be burning belts quickly in the deep stuff,i would think.
