Hey guys I'm new to this site I've spent the summer rebuilding and overhauling my 07 apex er I bought last spring .. I extended it from 121 - 144 due to the way the 144 hooks and bridges bumps .. My ? Is I have a 23 tooth top gear out of my old rx1 wondering if I should install I have 24 now ? My buddies and I do alot of playing and raceing with each other 2 of us have 4 stokes and others have 800 bombardiers I'm looking to hopefully really put them in the dust this year !!! Like I said I've extended this sled, bought trail performance package from Ulmer racing only went with hauck loud exhaust ... What kind of gains am I looking at here ? Any other ideas ? With out having to worry about damaging my engine!! I tryed searching this but find it really difficult so that I would ask and hopefully get some good input
Thanks
Bill

21 wow that must give really good power on low end I'm kinda looking for best of both worlds and mainly cause of extra track thinking I might loose some rpm and maybe 23 would give me that back?

I run the 23 gear on my 06 Apex 144 and it works great. Lost about 4 mph on the top end

I have the Huack Exhaust with there fuel controller, 1.5" track and 6.9 pilot ski with 6" carbides. With my fat butt(290) clothed, the best I have gotten was 101.3 mph on semi hard pack snow.
With the the clutch kit I was running I could only pull 96.8 mph, all on GPS

Does anybody elese have Thease mods that I have purchased I did research and found that most everyone on here like the Ulmer set up . That being why I purchased .. I went with hauck exhaust for the sound plus the slip on to stock headers.. Any other ideas to get a bit more zip with out going charged? Anyone running the set up I have would really like to get some good feed back !!
Sounds to me like you improved your bottom and mid, but hurt your top. I would ask ulmer, as he has set up your clutch kit for your weight, track, pipes, any other mods. Now if you change gearing it will throw things off. I am not saying that a gear down may not be good. Only saying that you need to match the clutching, and this is where ulmer will help you.

I have similar setup with 23 on top as well and my buddy has the 24 on top and I beat him to a 100. But we never raced for 2 miles straight so to me the top end isn't as important in a race, just for your own peace of mind. Drag racing is either measured in 1/4 mile 300 ft or 1 mile lengths so you'll beat the 24 tooth with the 23 in all those scenarios. Unless you are going for top speed all in what your looking for.

Thanks for the repleys I already told Allen everything I did to the sled . Track length ,height, rider weight , and exhaust! He sent me the clutch kit and pc111/ign module with his mapping for 91 octane I hear great reports on Allen's products and he is great to talk to on phone !! It's like everything ya don't mind spending money when hopefully ya see great results!!!
