I thought this had been discussed before but couldn't find anything on this. Does anyone know if a 25 tooth top gear is available for the RX1? I know that there are aftermarket ones for the SRX but they state that they are not for the RX1. I would like try and gear taller as that's what I believe I need for more mph and ET. I believe that NOS-PRO had geared down to a 23 and it didn't make much difference and went back to a 24, is that right NOS-PRO?

Hey hlmrx1 - The 23 tooth got me quicker, but hurt me on the end of the track. I never tried the 25, and don't know if Micro Belmont makes one for the RX1. So far the 24 has more mph.
So the 23 tooth got you better ET, but less mph??? Last weekend in Fargo/Moorhead an F7 and an SRX were running mid 10's at around 119mph and I know the F7 was running taller gears, just figured if I could, I'd try running taller gears, I'm sure the RX1 can pull the same as these guys in the 1/4. I'll probably be out for test and tune next Saturday and hope to try some changes in clutching. I'll let you know the results. Where is Micro Belmont and do you have their #?

I'm useing a 25 tooth gear, it does help some with the mph, but I need more it runs out around 1100-1200 feet. I think I need a 35 bottom. I got mine from Whal Bros.

Micro Belmont is in Michigan, and if you call, talk to Gary. He might give you a break. They also have a website also.
Thanks guys, I'll look into it.
What about the chain, can the stock chain be used with the 25 tooth?
NOS-PRO, you haven't tried a 25 tooth yet?
Hey 1xr, you're running a turbo, and you say you are running a 25 tooth on top, what is your bottom gear, stock 38 tooth? If so that makes it a 1.52 ratio, is that how the guys are getting their mph with the turbo's. What about the guys without turbos, I can't seem to get much more than 111mph on mine with the speed sheave and I want to try and get more.
Jeff is there a 26 tooth gear also?

The 25 top gear fits the stock chain, even better than the 24. Yeah I use the stock 38 reverse gear, and it still runs out of gear. Whal bros don't sell anything bigger than a 25.

top gear
micro belmont makes 25-26 and a 27 tooth top gear for the rx 1 guys and they told me that they all fit in the chain case.

note that you should be pulling at lest 118 to 119 on top end thats what i works out to on paper (119.8) i presonly have pulled 119.2 on the gun with just clutching and jetting and not just one time i did about 6-7 runs at nothing less than 118.8 . no speed sheve just stk.

hlmrx1 - no, haven't tried it yet. I am still in the thinking mode, like a motorcycle with gears, to keep the motor working at top RPM. I should pick one up.
Black john, what kind of clutching and jetting? I'm still running stock for jetting and run stock clutching or a heal clicker clutch with the speed sheeve. I pull a little better mph with the stock clutch in the quarter, but get better ET's with teh heal clicker setup. Going to the track this weekend and will be trying different weight combos in the heal clicker setup. Never been close to 119, tar or snow! (yours black, maybe that's it, :? )
