26 top gear

I put a 26 tooth top gear in the apex with the mcxpress for tar racing but it looks like the gear may be too big for the case? It looks as though the chain is going to rub on the chain tensioner just above where the roller is on the tensioner.
has anyone run a 26 top with the stock chain and 38 bottem with success?
I dont want to give up the reverse just yet.

We have run the 26 top gear in a RX-1 with the 38 reverse gear and had no problems. The apex does have a different tensioner, you could switch to a RX style tensioner in you apex case.

You can grind the tensioner a bit for clearance.

I thought about that then just figured it would work itself into place. It rubs ever so slightly right where the post is.

No sense in filling your chaincase with little bits of aluminum when you can leave it on your shop floor...

ended upleaving the 24 in for now. Only running 1/8 to start anyway.
