In January 08 hit a frozen small pile of dirt. Bent on left side so much that it dented and ruined my fox float. Dealer wasnt originally going to cover the repair. Quoted me over 2000 bucks. After talking to Yamaha customer service the repair was done. They replaced the sub frame, both upper and lower left side arms and the fox shock. I was just out last week and hit a small water hole now my right side is all outta wack and bent. By the looks of subframe that was installed at the first repair it was the old 08 subframe. This is really aggervating me. The sled only has 400 miles on it and has been nothing but problems. What are the chances of Yamaha covering the repair again and does someone have the old subframe part number and the new subframe part number. Id like to check my paperwork to see which subframe I got...

Thanks

My sled is in the shop right now for the same thing only I rode up the side of a ditch and bent the control arms and sub frame at 5 mph. I can't get yamaha to warranty it. The dealer wants over 2500 for the repair. I said no thanks. What did you say to get yamaha to warranty yours?

1st time coverage

I talked to customer service. I feel the only reason they covered it was because i purchased YES for like maxium term

No need for part #'s. Look at the the frame on it now. If it has the plate with a circle cut in it where the lower arms bolt on, it's an '09 frame.

If no plate, they put an '08 back on.

I have about 800 miles on my new 08 subframe (Was replaced this summer), and something is bent. Both shocks are pushed back and within a finger width of the a-arm in the back and about 2 fingers in the front. It is so aggrevating...but I am just going to ride it out and wait until the season is over to get into it.

I'm not sure you have anything wrong. I just got my subframe replaced & this is how mine looks - about a finger width in back & maybe 2 fingers in front.

Mine is like this also. Got a new subframe also. Measure from the ski bolt to a fixed point on the sled like a suspension bolt that is on both sides of the sled, to see if one side is pushed back or not...............

Got my sled back from the dealer today. Service manger said he measured and only the a arms are bent. I get home pulled the arms off. They don't look bent to me. I pulled the other side off to compare. Nope not bent. Pull the nose cone off sure enough the sub frame is bent. But the dealer assured me today the frame was straight. He measured. Well his tape measue must be broke.

Back to the dealer I go tomorrow with all my control arms and a sub frame. No more Mr. Nice GUY!!!

Are you guys making sure its not the sloppy a arm bushings?

The sub frame is not nearly worth 2500, someone is hosing you. Not to mention small bends could be straightened. For those who keep bending then maybe you should gusset up your sub frame before rebuilding. If you bent your sled twice in 400 miles, then your problem is your head is bent. Learn to ride like a sane person.

Or better yet go buy a XP and do the same stuff. And come back and let us know how that went.
