4 MPH GAIN ON TOP END SIMPLY BY.............................

They are wide enough to cover the hyfax on my 04, probably not with the wider hyfax on the 05's.
I haven't driven it enough to varify any benefits with the exception that the track doesn't stick anymore ;)!

Mighty, I am sure these bolts exist but I think I'll play it safe and order the SLP's. I'll report back once they arrive and I can see how they compare to the ones at Ace. Thanks for your input.

anti-slip pads

hey mighty i got the pads on your recommendation. i,m going to install them on the weekend and was just wondering what you did to hold the bolt from turning. thanks!

Mighty! Thanks for the idea. I tried them a few weeks ago and definately fell there is less drag. :ORC

I'm going to do it on both my RX-1 and the Wife's Vector while I am studding them up anyway. I can't see what could be bad about them other than a little more unsprung weight and the extra rotating mass. But these issues are both fairly minor compared to studs.

all american Vise grips ;)!

I have installed the SLP pads last saturday. I felt that track was much stickier. Thought maybe it was because of the snow conditions, wich i doubted. Yesterday, on hard pack groomed trails, it felt even worst! Lot of resistance above 50 mph. Slide dust against skid rails, with snow conditions being not an issue for other sleds. Back at my shed, I noticed that the head of the bolts (pads) were blacks-color of the slides. I am running the track as loose as possible. I will remove these pads. Very disapointed 'cause I believed in that device and it does the opposite that it is supposed to!

I am also sick and tired of this slide wear and stickyness issue. I will try to open the closed windows and if it does not work, change that dam track. Any successful solution -suggestion would be appreciated.

Nordik, What sled did you install these on? I put them on my 04 Warrior and I'll be running it next week in Quebec. I have 3700 miles on the original hyfax and there still good. I'll give feedback when I come back.

On my 05 RX-1

You have the wider hyfax, right?

If so that seems to be a problem with other 05's also, some have talked about going to the narrower style if possible. The hyfax on my 04 Warrior has lasted longer than any other sled that I have ever owned, it has over 3700 miles on it and it is still good to go.

Being new to Yamaha, can you confirm that your warrior has the same Ripsaw that comes with 05 Rx and Vector?
Thanks!

By the way, I never changed hyfax on my previous sleds, and my last one had 11,000 miles (Pantera 03 800).

The Warrior track and hyfax for 04 and 05 appear to have the same part # in the Yamaha Part Finder. The Hyfax Part# for the 04 RX-1 and 05 are not the same.
