so, anyone that bought a 700 grizz,i know its early but is there any oil burning with that motor, hope not cuz i really want one but got to make sure that this issue has been fixed, otherwise,i'll just drive my 660 until it dies

All yammy 4-strokes burn oil, Their supposed to the street bikes do, the dirt bikes do, the sleds do, and yes the quads do to. A little seafoam in oil and in fuel and oil burning is almost gone. nothing to be concerned about as long as you keep checking it.

well, ive tried seafoam and i just wasted my money,it didnt work, tried in the oil,in the fuel with no luck,i dont think its normal for a quad motor with only 1500 miles to start burning oil so much,by the way,my rx1 and my phazer dont burn any oil, heck,my dad sold his old moto 4 last year, iit was a 1988,it had alot of miles and we never put a drop of oil in that thing, its still going with its new owner,im pretty sure that yamaha was aware of the problem with the 660,that's why im waiting to next year to trade it in,by then someone will have enough mileage on the 700 to confirm if it does take oil

In my group of family and friends we have a total of 7 660 Grizzlys,1 RX-1, 1 Apex, 1 Vector, 1 YZ 400, 1 600R and they all use a little oil. If you stop and think about how these engines run you would realize that using a little oil is actually good for them. Run your car or truck at 10,000 plus rpms all day and then tell me it didnt use any oil, The Grizz of course doesnt run that many rpms but it runs faster than any other single cylinder engine you typically use, so oil usage is a fact of life. (a little is ok alot isnt and should be checked)

burning a little oil is ok,i know, but mine burns too much but im driving it until it dies,i will always drive yamaha's,im a die hard,it would just be fun not to have to check the oil at every ride,we also have a bunch of grizzlies,in 03,we bought eight of them in the same week, all familly and a couple friends, they all burn oil but mine seems worst, dont get me wrong,i love that bike, its reliable and it has enough power for me,i did try a 700 last week and its a great bike,it will sell like hot cakes,my dealer here is selling them one after the other, awesome

Havent had a chance to ride the new one yet, Not sure I want to spend the extra cash for one when my 05 isnt hardly broke in yet, sure would be nice to have p/s and fuel injection though.

ya,i know,i really felt the lightness in the steering and the motor is much smoother than the 660,we even got a chance to see how fast it goes,my dealer has a radar gun so we put it to good use,on three pass we saw 68 mph on all three,my buddy was there with his kawi 750 and he ran 75 mph but that's with the hot cdi box
