Guys I have always had open 4 place or clam shell 2 place side by side tralers at 8 ft wide
I see a lot of people going with 7 or 7.5 tralers. What is the big draw ?
I understand vision and slightly less wind drag but is it worth the inability to go side by side, let sleds pass through the trailer?
Let me know your thoughts. My goals are to haul 4 sleds drive on off use for storage of sleds outside at the cabin during winter and will be in shed hopefully during summer.
Thanks
Yamadoo

I have a Haulmark 7' - 4 place all aluminum 27' long with a dovetail.
I have owned an 8' side by side.
The Haulmark, having the deck between the wheels and lower to the ground is a far better pull IMHO. It is more stable than the side by side (deck above the wheels).
I cannot say that there is a difference or problem regarding loading a staggered or side by side. It is easier though to drive into the rear of the 7' with the lower deck & dovetail combo. It creates an easy approach angle for the ramp.

I bought an Legend inline 7.5 wide had it 3 weeks, Hated it, went back to Triton side by side. IMO is the only way to go.
Have to load back wards with an inline,

Not the case with me. All 4 full size sleds (137", 128", 121", 136") load facing the front and there is room for a Snow Scoot too.
My trailer is already in place at the lake house so I can't measure it. I am actually unsure now if it is 7' or 7.5'.
I have a Legend 7x29 and absolutely love it! Load 4 128,128,136,136, from the rear easily with a lot of room for luggage etc... in the front or loading from the front you can get five sleds in it. Pulls like a dream! Would never go back to a side by side with the wheels under the deck. They pull like a parachute.

I went with a 6.6 x 19 v nose. It will haul two sleds and that is lots for me. Main reason was that the wheels are outside the body so the trailer sits lower (lower center of gravity) and is narrower so I can see around it with my stock mirrors. I also use my trailer for hauling furniture and anything else and the lower body means that the ramp is not so steep when pulling heavy crap up it.
What works for me might not work for someone else!

With a 1/2 ton I would go with an inline (7 or 7 1/2) UNLESS I needed to get 4 mountain sleds in. Then I would do an 8 1/2.
I also got mine set up with a lot of light and insulated. Makes a GREAT workshop up north if I need to do any wrenching.
