Friends' 2012 E-tec 800 was recalled for new rings. All paid for which is promising, but it's actually sort of an admission to them blowing up that the Doo boys refused to admit...

I just don't get it. Who has time to waste when we have such a short season. I have noticed that these guys are loyal to a fault. They even hammer on the 1200 doo guys for choosing the 4 stroke. I believe that to get these engines to run clean enough to pass EPA regs they are not getting enough lubrication thus grenade city. Thank you Yamaha for the many thousands of miles of trouble free riding

We'll look at it this way !
If you have 1500 or 2000 miles on your sled you are getting a free top end rebuild ;)!
To do a top end on one you almost or would be better off pulling the motor out to do it .
It's not a fun job to do , it take a long time to do it and you only get payed half of the time it takes

My buddies 09 600 Etec popped at 2k miles the very 1st season he had it. Towed him 80 miles to the Doo dealer.

wonder if the cat 800's will have the same issue with their new 800's come out next year using direct injection???

BRP >Bring Rings & Pistons or Bring Rope Please ! makes you wonder about the Poolaris 800 ,it runs skinny on oil too..maybe that has a little to do with it? love my Yamaha !

It's good that they have the recalls rather then letting it go.
