However, that of course is not a 800 by any means. Ill be riding with an 800 e-tec this year that is clutched and i now have parts listed in my sig. I think ill be just fine!!
I don't think you will be lol
we shall see!!To many ski doo e-tec lemons out there anyway!
Race him when its warm out, and after his motor is good and hot. The computer will probably start pulling timing, and it won't rev out. Then you'll have a chance.

- something from 2019!
last season, at our last drag race for the year, one guy had a stock 800 etec with a 1" track and in the open class he came in 5th place... I got 4th... and I was stock then also... we run a 1000'drag strip. so you might have a chance if he has the same setup
All things generally equal, his is lighter and has more HP. I haven't ridden an 800 e-Tec but I have been on a 600 and raced that sled in some open fields. It was close - darn close to a draw I'd say. With another 25 HP pulling the 800 around, i think you are gonna have a tough time. It'll probably be close to about 40 or 50 then Id guess he's gonna really start pulling away from you. OTOH, in the trails we ride up here with lots of corner to corner, tighter trails and big bumps, if yours is set up right I think you could definitely stay with him. Just avoid big fields and lakes!

Hmmmmm... see the 600 will get me out of the hole, but i quickly reel him in then keep pulling away!
He and I are pretty much neck and neck up to about 80 to 85 then he actually starts pulling away by a bit. I've got the stock track studded tho which isn't the best for hole shot and his isn't studded. All i know is that his 600 is a strong motor.
OTOH he can't hang with me in the bumps - but that's as much about the suspension as anything. The way my Nytro handles the bumps the way I ride them is the main reason I'm not back on a Doo this year. Well that and corner to corner, i really love the motor. It feels so strong from 20 to 70 MPH and I can run with any sled out there on the trails. Don't think I'd want to line up for pink slips on a long WOT run against a 600 e tech much less an 800. But if I was doing that all the time I'd probably have an Apex anyway. At this point, I am just dying to ride! I want snow NOW!

just have a piece of mind that your motor will take abuse for like 30,000 km's if you warm it up each and every time, and keep good clean oil in it, and those etecs with their isoflex crank bearings cant take the heat of a hard working engine. you at least dont have to worry about your motor...unless you flip it and lose oil pressure. i drive a 08 rsvector. 136x1.5 ripsaw and a 600 etec with 137x1.75x16 track dont touch me. at the races last winter a 2011 800etec lost to a completly stock nytro mtx in 660 foot drags.

Yout track is probably going to be your limiting factor in many conditions other than a good hard packed groomed trail. I switched to Cobra's on all my sleds and won't look back. They grip real well help use the extra torque that motor makes.
Just take some time to set your sled up, you'd be surprised at how much you can pick up just by having the skis aligned right and the rest of the suspensino set up to hook as best it can.

Buddy just got a nice but used 2011 etec 600.
Started it up for me to show how his dream meter recorded a top speed of 192kph.
What's the deal with that? I laughed when I saw it but he's seriously believes he's going to crush me this year.

My buddies 08 800R showed 119mph on his dream-o-meter...but the radar said other wise...109mph on the gun. he was even more ticked whenb the F7 I was riding went 114mph. The Doo speedos are like the old Yammis...way off. You should have zero issues with him, afterall you are putting out about 20 more ponies than him. You be be able to run with the 800s easily.....I do.

Should be fun spanking him.
But I just couldn't believe I was seeing like 120mph recorded on that Doo digital read out. Etec 600 no less.
Was starting to wonder if there was Doo trickery going on.
Like, before you sell a sled, pin it WOT with the track off the ground to record the best ever fictional top speed.
