Steve that is the same mph differance i had got, when changing between those two belts...4 mphThe 8DN is a proven strong belt.
With NO clutch changes it GPS'd at 117 when the 8JP GPS'd at 121 within 10 minutes of each other on a 5 mile WOT trial on a lake for me last year.
It was also a little "poochier" in the middle.
I'd have to go back to look up my data to see what the RPM's were. I think the 8DN was 300 lower.
BUT, in the trails i hardly noticed it. It is a back up to my other 2 back ups. If i'm on a trip & i blow 3 belts, i'll put this on plus if any other Yamaha's are in need of a belt, i'd offer this to them.
It is reported that the 8DN will wear out the sheaves in certain spots if you ride a certain RPM a lot, but my Apex has over 20,000 miles on it and there is just a small groove. Nothing to be concerned about. Of course that's 150 HP compared to 200 plus.
DON't FORGET, that was with NO changes

Bob,is your bib white with red letters, the only number I can see is 3 on the right side. So your XTX -LE is it the 137 coupled skid, and does it still have the 1.75 lug track on it?
Yes I am wearing the white bib with 33 on it.
Both Winders you see in the photos are 2019 X-TX LEs that came stock with the 141" x 1.75" Back Country tracks and uncouple skids with QS3s all the way around

Bob that is awesome top speed when you figure 141 x 1.75 lug track and only 240 hp tune completely awesome. When I was running 115 mph on the GPS the speedo was reading 122mph

Yes I couldn't be happier with this Sidewinder and stock muffler setup I have. It is competitive with any of the boosted sleds in our area, and after having a successful day of drag racing on the weekend all I did was change my windshield, nothing else, and went back during the week to doing 200 mile days on the trail, some ice fishing pulling a sleigh, and with fuel economy that matches or betters any of the 850 Doos in our group.
Great sled.
Try that on any two stroke!

When I first saw the specs and colors of the 2019 X-TX LE it was as though Yamaha had custom built me a sled. After picking it up, I went over the entire sled and did all upgrades and preventative maintenance measures I learned of from this forum ect. Pretty well every upgrade BOP offers is on this sled as well as clutch roller upgades, gearing changes ,and my own clutching made up of Dalton and other components.
It works for me.
It works for me.

I didn't know the 8DN will just swap on. That is cool! I just bought one for the SW and one for the Apex. $90 for 8JP and $60 for 8DN. Love the 8DN! If my winder ever works I may try the swap.

As said before...the 8DN is longer so has to be adjusted higher in the secondary to get proper belt deflection..thats all I had to do. It will end up sitting 1/8"-3/16" above the secondary sheaves.

UPDATE
I just passed 2000 miles on my Winder yesterday with the original 8DN belt I have been running all season. Performance in all situations has been flawless.
The 8DN belt still looks good and I have had virtually no belt dust.
I am still running the OEM primary with TPI rollers, 911 cover, and Dalton tuning components. The secondary is OEM with TPI rollers, Dalton helix and spring, BOP belt adjuster/removal tool, and my secondary is not bolted down but shimmed for belt deflection and allowed to float freely like I have set up all my previous Yamahas.
My Winder has so far proved to have equal belt performance to my Apexs.
I have over 1600km[1000miles] using an 8DN belt on my Hurricane 240 SM flashed 2019XTX-LE. I also have a Razor belt temp gage on the sled. I have done a combination of trail riding, open lake breaking trail, towing the ice fishing sleigh,
numerous long wide open runs as well as occasional day of drag racing.
So far the 8DN belt has performed flawlessly, no signs of belt slippage , virtually no belt dust and belt width is well within specs.
The highest belt temp I have seen is 190F, well within acceptable limits, but normally it runs around 140F.
When I was testing the 8DN against the 8JP on GPS the 8DN was 3 mph slower then the 8JP, same day same conditions and run.
For me I see no reason to use anything other then the 8DN, durable, proven, and inexpensive.

As I recall you are only running the 240 Hurricane tune. From what I have seen, the 240 tune is very easy on belts and clutch parts. I believe you could put any belt on it and it would be happy. The clutch and belt issues arise when you turn it up and try and run the bigger tunes. We have many here running more than well over 4 and 5 thousand miles on the stock 8JP only using the 240 tune. It will run happily day after day. Its like a honey badger, it just don't give a crap what you do to it, its almost bullet proof and seems like nothing matters, even if the alignment is off you can't hurt it or do no wrong. 240 is happy, happy, happy!
But keep an eye on your drive clutch, the 8DN will grove it up on the bottom and of course you'll drop the gear ratio using it as it is longer, so will start in a lower ratio and finish in a lower ratio. Easy way to gear it down 3-4 MPH if one wants that.
