'98 MM700 electrical problem

My Kid has a '98 MM700 with a dim tailight, and a headlight that is more yellow than white. I looked online, and there are 2 parts relative to the Regulator............( that's what I'm guessing is wrong ).

Part 1 is the Rectifier and regulator assembly.
Part 2 is the Regulator assembly.

Anyone have this sort of problem before ????

This just does not sound right. (i.e. both parts have the regulator) Do you have the E-Print? Can you scan it and send it to me in a PM?
