I recently purchased a 03 RX1 with a long track upgrade and realized that it has a 9 tooth direct drive gear that rubs on the carriage. Need help with a fix???

I assume that you mean that it has external drive sprockets that are hitting the front suspension arm....
The solution is to cut the tips down until they are no longer hitting. Best way is to remove the shaft with the drivers and turn it on a lathe, but in a pinch, you could grind the tips down in place. It doesn't spin nearly as fast as the clutches, so balancing isn't *as* critical, though it would definitely be better if they are properly balanced.
