You all have seen my 2003 Red RX1 Race sled.

I bought it new in 02, Rode it winter 03-04-05-06, It was passed down throught my wife and kids, trail ridden hard by my freinds, raced on every lake we came to, while trail riding acumulated 4000 miles in that time, I then with only a retorque of the head studs turned it in to what it is now.

Raced it all last winter traveling to lakes all over the northeast, and doing very well, running 22 psi boost with average 5.2s at 130 mph, Probably around 100+ passes

This year a turned up the wick with a bigger turbo, and now running 23 psi boost and average 5.1s at 135 to 138 mph. Probably 120 passes this year so far

I do a compression and leak down test regularly, I did one last night and this motor is still as solid as the day I bought it, 195-198 psi compression with 5-6% leak down in all 4 cylinders.

Thank You Yamaha for building a great foundation for us.

Best pass to date on the timers 5.11 ET 138.03 MPH at 726 lbs. in 35 degrees and soft Ice.

Ted.

Do you think that the new Sdoo1200 under pressure ,and the AC Z1Turbo tweaked ++hp, will be at least 1/2 as reliable?.....

I am going to find out I have a 1200 Ski Doo Coming in next week for Turbo fitment.

Keep us posted on that Doo build,am curious to say the least
Art ;)!

Will be riding one next week (demo that is)

I didn't think the 1200 Skidoo was out yet????

I would love a boosted 1200 Ted. Keep us posted. I would think you could build an excellent header for this 3 cyl Ski-Doo. It would be #100 lighter than our Yamaha's. Could you post some pictures of the underhood and such? Thanks, Mike

Boy o boy i hate to say it but we all new it was coming other fast turbo sleds.
All good i guess........ ha ha

Hi Ted,

Any updates on the new 1200 Ski Doo you were going to boost?

Do I buy it or not? Waiting on the outcome.

I rode the sled last Tuesday, and It is awesome, Very easy to ride, makes me look like a snow cross champ, that I am NOT. The power is surprisingly Good, We drag raced it against the Nytro and it Pulls it by about 1 sled in 500 ft. Outhandles the Nytro by Leaps and bounds. we were swaping back and forth on the SD 1200 and the Nytro, Yamaha Has they're hands full catching this one in the trail.

Lots of room under the hood, Looks like it is going to be real Easy but You never know till you get in to it.

The inside scoop is the motor is the same as the Watercraft SC motor.

The seadoo motor is a 1.5L (1494cc)...though it may be based on it...which IMO is a little scarey...I've got a buddy with one that has been through 2 engines in less then 50hrs AND the dealer doesn't seem to think that is strange...

I rode one myself on Saturday , I hate to say it but as far as ride, comfort and handling. Yamaha watch out ,the doo has it beat hands down, Keep us posted on that turbo build for it, there is enough room in the front of that thing to crawl in and take a nap.Still keeping my Attak but will definatly have that boosted doo when ready ;)!
