Finally got mine and installing the accessories now with a mixture of Yamaha and Arctic Cat parts as Yamaha doesn't have nearly as many accessories available as AC has. But the differences between the manufactures is stark, like the rear bumper bar to add rear rack the Yamaha bumper uses 32 rivets with 8 of them being structural rivets, but AC mounts there rear bumper with self taping screws that are really hard to install and they only supply 24 screws...what do they think that there bar doesn't need the extra support that Yamaha uses...the only reason that I had to use the AC bar was that Yamaha screwed up in there catalog and missed labeled the part number so instead of getting the long chassis rear bumper they send me the short RTX chassis bar and they don't have the long chassis available to purchase...this was after I had already cut off the rear bumper and needed to get my sled back together so I had to order the AC rear bumper with the screws instead of rivets...not happy with AC fasteners either as the torx head screws strip easy and the screws are already rusting and I haven't even taken the sled out of the garage...must replace all the fasteners with stainless hardware and grade 8.8 bolts at a high cost that a Yamaha never would have allowed to leave the factory with...but that's AC influence

Yet some of us grew tired of Yamaha building "tanks" that ran forever but wore you out wrestling all that weight. I still have an RX1 if you want an indestructable tank I will trade in on your Viper if price is right as I also have a 2014 M8 and couldn't be happier with it...and its still miles ahead of Polaris in quality.

I agree. You can tell Yamaha is thinking about quality by the many changes they made already. For the ones they didnt catch they will know now and I have no doubt they will fix or try to fix. Just always report the issue to a dealer and here. I bet they are watching.

I ask any of you old timers (lets say over 10 years with Yamaha) have you ever seen a first year release with less bugs than this one? I haven't..........(Phazer front end slop in 200 miles, bad ECU wont start in the cold, Nytro front end bushings out in 500 miles, sloppy primary clutch...I could go on...)
I just wish a dealer in Colorado would get a Viper I could ride I would most likely buy one for the girlfriend to replace her boosted Phazer.

How much would it cost to make a Nytro (or Apex) as nimble and as light as a Viper? How much would it cost to replace some fasteners on the Viper that are of Yamaha quality? If AC sold Yamaha the tooling to make the chassis and it was all assembled in Japan with Japanese QC and materials how much would the Viper cost?
