It is pretty scary reading the posts on HCS from AC guys that bleed green, won't consider a sled from another manufacturer regardless of how good, and that Firecats have never lost a race.
Just be careful about stirring things up on HCS. I don't won't those guys over here ruining our site.

all i ride with is CATs.. LOL
My buddy just bought a new zr900.. and all my other friends own 05 F7s and 03 and 04 F6s and F7s.. (the 900 should be my only threat) and i in no way am saying you will beat every sled out there.. but i know BS when i hear it.. and i hear alot of it on HCS...
Lets face the facts jim .. the RX wasnt the fastest sled out of the box... in fact it was slow compared to the F7s and some F6s..in the 1/4 mile (needed ecp kit and clutching to beat stock F7s)
But the apex has its stuff together compared to the Rx-1... better rear skid and more HP.. lighter etc. etc.
It just makes me sick to my stomach at how great the guys on Hardcore sledder think the F7 is.. they call the rx slow, and ill handling.. when in reallity, the first f7 was ill handling too.. and blew up all the time..
All they want to do is call names and compare there highly modified sleds to stock ones and want to race for pink slips! How often do you see guys on there wanting to race for pink slips unless they have a turbo?
Hell you even see 40 year olds on that site calling names and talking like 13 year olds..
Im sure glad i have this site to come back to where we talk sensibly and NON color blind!
Im pretty much done with HCS.. Where is the moderators when all the name calling starts for like 9 pages.. LOL
Right on from top to bottom. I personally don't lurk around other brand specific threads on HCS just to poke fun at the other brands, so it's hard for me to understand the motivation to waste my time cracking on other guys sleds. Every new Apex thread on HCS gets ruined by some punk, 30 or 13, who wants to stir the pot. I still check 'em, I just try to restrain myself from being reeling into their moronic arguments.
The biggest problem with Cat people is they point to the grass drag results. The f7 is truly a dominate force on the grass right now. The only reason it's so dominate is POWER TO WEIGHT.
The F7 in 500 foot race trim make between 150 to 160 hp and is about 100 to 150 pounds lighter then it's competitors.
Here's where is gets good. You can't ride an race trim F7 on the trail or the lake. The reason they put out the high Hp numbers is the advanced Timing and leaned out efi settings. You can't run like that on the snow. So all the race results fly right out the window!!!
Plus it's very easy to throw a Turbo, SC, or NOS system on a RX-1/Apex and really lay the wood to a F7 or just about any other sled for that matter

Well the General forum is a trash forum pretty much. And what do you expect from the Arctic Cat forum?

JT, that 150-160 is with some porting and head work done as well. My buddy who drag races alot in the Pro division and has an F7 which had the motor done by D&D and he says it puts out about 160-163 hp. He says it has porting, head work done, reeds, timing, ECU reprogrammed for 500 ft. But a stock box F7, 03-04 are only about 133-135 hp. The 05's are a little leaner and have better programming and I have seen them at 140-145hp, depending on the dyno, but they suffer from the Direct Drive. The 03's seemed to be the fastest still and that's why all the pros are still using it. Plus the 03's have 10 tooth drivers. The Firecats are fast, but only if you tune them and tune them well. Out of the box they are not that fast.jtssrx said:The biggest problem with Cat people is they point to the grass drag results. The f7 is truly a dominate force on the grass right now. The cat guys keep saying that it isn't fair to race a short track Apex against the x-fire, which is a long track. They say it should be compared/raced against the attak.. What do you guys think? Personally i think the attak would crush it even more, thanks to more traction.

I think it would for sure take it off the line and still pull on it all the way through. maybe not as much pull.?!?!
Yes they want to compare 136 vs 136.. but right now they are going stock apex and modded Xfire.. they should be saying stock attack vs stock Xfire if they wanted to talk even race.

I garantee the attack would beat the crossfire just as bad as the apex did... if not worse..
as soon as you start talking races they pick the distance that give them the greatest advantage.. 600FT.. LOL
I guess that is as far as a cat can go.. LOL
