Anyone seen or heard of how these skids will work on long mountain sleds? The price seems pretty decent which makes me wonder if they
would stand up in the mountains with a big horsepower sled. Any info would be appreciated

CAn't wait to see report on it. I have a mountain rx1 and almost bought one. What make me stop to buy it is I did ask Ad boivin if the skid would melt down like the slides in marginal snow... and its the only thing I have asked that they did not answer me. I was concerned that this could happend cause I often ride in groomed trails skid may get softand bent or breaks....maybe.

Ad Boivin ZX-2 suspension
Bonjours Mr. Baie-Comeau !
We melt slider shoes in testing and we never had to change a rail.
this was at the beginning of testing. Now with the 12 wheels, different position of the wheels and the way the rail is made. you won't melt your slider shoes !
Yamaha suspension have the tedency to melt really easy the sider shoes.
this is a conception problem from yamaha.
Don't think the ZX-2 has all the problems your original suspension had.
We fix them, that is why we salesuspensions and so many of them !
I don't know why you say that i did not want to answer that question? i am a bit surprise because i answer all questions asked.
If you are thinking about getting one, hurry up because availability is getting low.
- We will finish to ship the first prod and then the second.
- There is 40 suspensions left in the third production.
- The fourth prod will be available beginning of December.

To help Jeff out here, there wasn't any testing of higher HP with these skids. That's not to say they won't handle it, just saying that there wasn't any testing done. I asked Jeff the same question and he told me I may be better of keeping my Expert. ( Which I did ) Seeing how I'm pushing upwards of 240hp.
I'm sure someone is going to have a boosted sled and mount this skid. We'll just have to hang out and see what happens. If all goes well, you'll have the info and can order one for next season?
Hope this helps...
Jeff is great and has always answered each and every question I have ever asked. Give him a call....

If they soak up the bumps like the other suspension I rode on a snow cross sled it will be a winner.
