Thought I would share some pictures of my upgrade. I had the sled apart to replace exhaust donuts and decided to rebuild the suspension as well. I sent my stock suspension arms to welterracer at halfbaked and had the beef up kit added. I chose to have them powdercoated blue. I also am not a small guy and from the research I have done Fox's Megafloat shock looks to me like its the answer for me. Anyways, here's the pics! Now if we could just get some snow around here...

Did the shock just drop in place.

Yep, ordered it from Yamaha's accessory catalog and it was a direct replacement. Literally takes 5 minutes to install. On the monoshock skid the suspension doesn't even have to be taken out to swap the megafloat in. Just take out the two shock bolts, pull the old one out and slide the new one in.

The Mega Float looks really nice Brada. It even matches the blue!

The Mono shock is pretty easy to remove. I just did it this fall when i had my Ohlins EC revalved.

Just get the back end hanging down. I used a sled lift, but lifting the back end via the bumper with a come-a-long or winch will also work fine. Then remove the 2 bolts and take out the shock.

To put the shock back in you may have press up on the track to get the shock eyes to match up with the holes to re-insert the mounting bolts. I used a hydraulic jack and put it under the track and moved it up a few inches, pushing the track and rails upward a few inches until the holes matched up with the shock eyes. Then reinsert the bolts and your done.

Hey Kinger,
I'll let you know Sunday
Brada is right on how easley the bolts side in to install the shock..
I only have just under 500km on the mega float so far so good.. Handles the rear nicely..
Still playing with psi, should get it close this weekend since the trails with be rough..
I have it set to 150 and it's pretty close to be good over the stutters maybe a few more psi..
I goes all the way up to 225 psi..
It's a diff feeling under you with the mega float..

Thanks I'm curious I'm expecting under 50lbs which is probably one of the lightest OEM skids on the market.

I didn't weigh the skid before I installed it, but I know that the megafloat is a heck of alot lighter than the stock shock/spring combo. I was surprised how light it was when I got it, I would say it seemed to me to be probably only 1/4 of the weight of the stock shock.

You say you've got yours set to 150, how much do you weigh? I was wondering how close the weight vs psi chart that came with the shock would be for setting it up.

I'm 190 with gear, the spec sheet that came with the sled calls for higher psi then 150 for a 190 rider...

I tried higher psi 155-160-165 but it gets alittle on the stiff side on the smaller bumps (stutters)...

Even 150 psi it won't bottom out, I was hitting some good washouts at 70-80 kph with no bottoming at all awesome ride comfort..
