That technically is not "running", more like just the momentum still spinning the engine over while it is having an orgasm of detonation.
That is the quote of the year!!!!!!!LMFAO
My rx-1 always has shown very lean at an idle.

Hey Jim, how did you make out with Jeff's co settings? I finally took mine out for a ride today and that A/F gauge won't go under 13 or seldom does no matter where I set the fuel controller. It seems to run ok though. I don't want to have the same thing as I had last spring.

JIM said:why cant you just adjust your co trim to a positive number to get it a little richer at idle?? I know some boondocker kits had to have a -25 just to idle correctly. I know I had to change mine back from a -25 to a 0 when I changed from a boondockers to a powderlite kit .. It was idling really lean 16-17, and I changed it and 13.5
If you need direcctions on how to adjust co trim, shoot me a pm and I will fax you the directions.
Jim
Could you email the directions instead of faxing?

So where does the O2 sensor go?.. and if no one is actually worried that they have a lean reading and figure it's seems fine what is the point of having the O2 sensor on? I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth getting one if i wont be able to tell 100% if I'm lean or it may be a false reading?

Good to be leaner at idle.
I run at 13-13.5
then when I get on it drops into the 11s then makes it way to 12-12.5

That's where I'd like to be!!!!! Right now it seems to be at 13 when I'm at cruising speeds.

Usually I am around 11.4 -11.8 cruising around 4500 rpm.
Occasionally when I go wot Ill see 13.1 or so for a quick second but it then settles where it should.
I think its just the sensor adjusting to the rapid change in A/F

Ironmanstl, have you done anything with your factory CO settings?
I finally got out for a good ride this weekend after adjusting the CO setting to +5 on each cylinder. After the machine is at operating temperature the A/F reads usually around 14~15, so I think it help. I will set it for +10 and see how it performs. Before it warms up though the A/F climbs quite high and it starts to stall and I have to burp it. I think this is due to an error code 20 in which mysteriously showed up after adjust this. Not sure what I did to cause this but I will be doing more testing for this as per another post.
As for the riding, when I’m cruising around 5000 rpm and the controller indicates 1 green and 1 blue light the A/F reads around 13.0~13.1. When I bring it up to 6000~7000 and the controller indicates 2 green and 1 blue then the A/F reads around 11.9~12.5. I haven’t really tried cruising and higher than that as I’m still breaking in the engine, but I have burped it a few times. So we seem to be on the right track here, if only I can fix that code 20.
Jim, I know you will probably be reading this, I bet you a case of beer that you can’t isolate this code 20 at your shop within a half hour, lol!!!!!!!

Nope I havent adjusted factory settings.
Seems every RB3 tune Dave posts for download refines the a/f even better.
I hope you get your A/F worked out.
Sounds like your close.

Have you got a chance to test out his jan 17th tune? I was wondering if it has fixed up the lean spot around 7000 rpm.
