screen,s

the screen,s are well hidden . they are located on the top side of the needle & seat. you have to remove the float,s from the carb,s to get at them them there,s one screw holding each one in place remove this screw and pull them out they mite give some restan,s as they have an o ring on them the screem,s are snoped on the top. i just remove them and reinstall the seat,s with out them in place problem solved forever. as i have seen theses thing cost many a doo moter by impeding fuel flow on those long run,s . ;)!

I would take out the screens and put in external filters.

fillter,s

there are gas fillter,s inside the fuel tank all ready. one on each line. more than enuf to do the job. i got rid of those pesky little thing,s as soon as i up jetted my sled in 03 and have never had a problem in 7000 mile,s with dirt in the carb float bowl,s or jet,s . after running a full mod 76 & 77 srx,s and yamaha explaning to me that the only gas fillter that had flow capacity for these moter,s was the mopar 440 six barrel fuel fillter. we never had a burn down after useing these fillter,s . so i get very picky about my sled fuel system,s now. and yamaha did not put these pesky little screen,s in there mikni did. back in the day when trimph, norton, royal enfeld, etc etc were bike raceing they would pick up to 10-12 mph on there bike,s just by adding a secound fuel valve to the fuel tank to feed the other carb instead of just runing one valve with a tee to feed both carb,s. :flag:

Thanks I will pull them out to see how they look. Thanks for the pic.

nice reply rtx rox. its to bad that blackjohns spelling is not always the best, but he is one of the best mechanics i have ever known, and also one of the nicest people. if you cant add something intelligent to this site, find another.

Apperently I look like a bit of an &^%hole don't I.

I left the site open on my computer at work and some guy who works here and thinks all snowmobilers are rednecks because we all don't wear tight pants and shop at the good will like him and all his cool buddies.

If you look at my posts I'm not the best speller either so it wouldn't make sense to carve someone else would it? No...it wouldn't. So sorry if I/he offended anyone.

fuel

no problem here ;)! . i even went as far as getting rid of the stock fuel pump,s as any thing that you can do to the intake will reduce vacum and will reduce the fuel pump out put. so i have installed a carter electric fuel pump with a by pass line so not to put to much load on the carb inlet valve,s. i put a jet in the bypass to cut the flow back to the tank and to maintane so psi . this i have ran for two year,s with no problem. ;)!
