On my pre season tuneup I figured out it was a good idea to check the air pressure in the shocks and in that matter I`d like to know what pressure you guys are running in your rear shocks?
Does somebody know what the stock pressure is?
Would be cool if someone could say a few words on this
I am running a Moutain Tamer rear skid with Fox Floats on my '08 162 n/a MTX. The rear shock was revovled for my weight by Allen at Timbersled. I am 250 lbs. with gear and i am running 95 in front and 145 in the rear. I am not sure how comparable my rear skid is to the 2012's but it might give you some idea. A lot of it comes down to personal preference and riding style. A lot of people use plastic zip ties on the shocks so they can tell how well the shocks are working. Put a zip tie on the shock so that it will be pushd down as the shock goes through the travel and go ride and see how far down on the shock it ends up. If it gets pushed down too far then put more air in the shock. If it ends up half way down the shock let some air out and put the zip tie back up at the top and do it again. You want to be able to use all the travel you can but not have it bottom out because you can damage the shocks and rails if it bottom too hard.
You might want to let people know how much you wiegh geared up so people can help more. good luck and have a safe season
