Who has successfully ran airbox mod and can without a controller or map. If so how many miles have you been and what are you riding. Thanks. I already know the safe answer is to get a controller. But I was hoping to run the airbox mod with my mbrp can without havin to get a controller.

I have done alot of searching and even talked to cannondale. But didnt find anything on who was actually running both without a controller.

I ran a sandale can and ulmers 3 k&n individual filter setup without a fuel controller for 3000k miles with zero issues, just needed to clutch for it, then I ran a slp header with evo stage 4 flash but eventually went to turbo, should have skipped everything and went straight to turbo, live and learn I guess

I've got Ulmer's air box mod and can without any fuel controller. Logged over 4,000 miles with it with zero issues.

airbox mod evo stage 4 flash mbrp trail can ulmer header and clutch kit without controller 5000 miles with no issues

Evo flash is a fixed non adjustable fuel controller.

I gave the safe answer. Get a tune. If you have to ask you are worried and should be safe. $ isnt everything and Ulmer or Evo both have great tunes which ever you choose to do. Plug and play for either.

We ran a modded air box on a 2014 xf7000..started awesome, ran awesome, noticeable performance gain..added a can and it started terrible! Had a couple kick backs right away, made a few passes with it and pulled the can right back off. This was at roughly 700 feet elevation. Would’ve liked to have put a pc5 on it because it definitely made power, just wasn’t safe on that specific machine given all the starter issues.

Good points by cannondale. I already have the mbrp trail can and so far no issues. Guess I'll have to look into a tune or controller in the meantime.
