Hey guys
Has anyone tried putting a alarm or remote start on there RX1's. I have a buddy here in Van that has started putting two way paging alarms/remote starts on his street bikes. They have ignition kill , proximety sensors and antitampering devices built right in . They seem to work really good on street bikes. Mounting on a RX1 would probably be even easier then a street bike because there is no transmission, clutch or signal lights to worry about. The alarm it self is very small and weighs almost nothing ( 3 X 4 X 1) maybe 12oz. It impresses everyone who see's it. Nothing cooler then starting your bike/sled from 30 feet away while your buddies on two strokes are dislocating there shoulders.......hehe. Also it would make it very hard to steal your sled as the alarm has proximaty and movement alarms.......which are very LOUD and HIGH pitched..
anyhow check it out
might even save everyone a little $$$$ on insurance next year............every sled not stolen is money in our pockets

The RX1 and the RS modles are no good candidates for remote starts
because they are not fuel injected . We used to put them in cars with carbs but they had auto choke . We have manuel choke and though it would be posible to choke it with an electronic solinoid I doubt that it will
happen . The alarm should be no problem .

Wilson is correct, you'll have to wait till fuel injection comes around. The alarm may be a good idea but I find a good theft deterant to be a Cat Cover :ORC

Be sure the alarm you buy is 100 % guaranteed to work on a sled. The problem is the temp range for the sensors. We tried Aritronix bike alarms with nothing but problems. After they would get real cold they would sometimes false trigger at 2 AM . Fooled with them for months then they screwed us out of 15 % on the return. They built the kits for the sleds and said they would work.

Good one ,Polaris cover would work as well. I used to use a polaris cover on my Venture . When ever some one asked why I would answer ,so no one will steal it.
