My sled is a 2010 nytro mtx 162, I checked the track before my ride today and all lugs were great, no issues, rode 90km's today, got back from my ride just getting ready to load up and find about 95% of all the lugs are cracked right down to the chord on the track, some look like they would almost let the track rip if I were to ride it again. They are cracked up front and back which is weird, track has 2100km's on it. It looks like the vulcanizing of the track is letting go at the base of all the lugs. I could see on the acceleration side of the lug, but no the worst cracks are on the back side of the lugs, the snow I was in was about 1-2 foot powdery snow, nothing out of the ordinary. I think this is a manufacturing issue, sled is not turbo'd btw.

Russelrox:
Assuming its a maverick, no suprise....think of this as an opportunity to change to a vastly better track!
The old Mav's have a host of problems, which is likely why they stopped producing them. With such a soft durometer track, eventually all those bent over lugs are going to crack and 2100km's is probably not bad....others can chime in on their experience, as I never made it this far.
On my 09 Mtx the track was showing signs of cracking with a 1000kms, and with the 11 mtx, I changed to a powerclaw right out of the box, as the track already had a set just sitting on the showroom floor!
You can try to chase Yami on the delamination of lugs, but it'll probably be an uphill battle:
Powerclaw or the CE, they are vast improvements, as is the 162 Yami Ascent which is available on the 2012 model, and I am assuming a replacment for and 162 Nytro.

Make sure you were not running the track too loose. Balooning can cause it to hit the front cooler in the tunnel. better add a anti-stab kit if you are installing a new track.

It is the stock maverick track, what a piece of #*$&@ track, now I will be looking for a new track, challenger extreme or the powerclaw is best, what is the pitch for the nytro's. Track tension was good btw.

I have a 2010 mtx 162, looked at mine, noticed same problem starting. A little concerning, 400 miles on sled.. Is this considered a warranty issue? Bought as a holdover, not a year yet. What are the replacement options 2.25 " lug that won't roll over as easy and is durable..

Russelrox, Nytro MTX is a 3" pitch. You have both the PC and the CE available for 162's. If your drivers are still good, there is no problem using the stock ones on either track. If boosted, the stock drivers won't last very long.
Either track is a vast improvement and the track change is actually pretty straight forward. There is a great step by step here on TY:

You'll be much happier with the new one, and after your done, you can reuse the old track on your snowmobile trailer!

I am wondering if the track would last for the rest of the season, not much of it left, there is only 1 fairly deep crack on the outside portion of the track, its not through the chord but down to it in one place.

I have 8500 kms on my Mav now and the luggs have been cracked since last season. Noticed them cracking around 7000. I hope to use it the rest of this season then go for a new PC or CE. I cut my luggs down to 1.8 after the first 1500kms.

There are usually some good deals on cat take off challenger tracks. That is what I put on mine and was most definately a worth while upgrade!!!
If you use your sled on trails they most likely will not warranty the track as it was designed for powder use. Not that it performs there either....
